I've been losing interest in most (but not all) modern day games to begin with.
But if I can't own a physical disc or cartridge copy of modern games, then I'll have completely lost interest at that point.
Fortunately I have enough games released from 1983 - 2023 to keep me busy for 5 lifetimes over, so in the end the only ones who lose out will be these shitty greedy companies.
How do I upvote this comment more than once? 😁
Despite the multiple delays, this game needed an additional two years of development and polish before it should have come out. What a mess.
I'd be shamed of myself and co-workers being quickly out-classed by individuals working for free in their spare time fixing my broken junky game. 🤪
1) Don't buy online-only games.
2) Don't buy Ubijunk games.
Problem solved. Wow, that was simple!
I've never liked the idea of a 'franchise killer', why can't both thrive, without one killing off the other? Its such a childish mentality.
That being said, if there ever was a true 'Halo killer', then it would have to be 343 Studios, and the Xbox division. They're doing a fine job killing off their own IP, apparently.
Ubisoft used to make good games during the PS2 and PS3 eras, but now they only make junk. Why waste money to subscribe to Ubijunk?
If you must play Ubijunk games, wait until they drop down to $10, that way, their rushed out trash games have been fully patched by that point.
Good its time for something new. I'd also like it to not revolve around shooting. Everything they've done since Jak II in 2003 has focused on shooting as the primary method of interacting with the game world. A change of pace would be nice.
Just play the Xbox 360 or PC version of Tomb Raider Anniversary, though I'm assuming you already have.
I bought none of those games, though the closest I came was almost buying the previous shitty SNES Simpsons game, Bart's Nightmare. I still remember standing in the Toy 'R' Us isle with my Dad, and telling him I wanted both The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, and Bart's Nightmare for Christmas, and I asked him which one I should pick up.
Thankfully he told me to get Link to the Past! One of my favorite games ever, its absolutely timeless, and I've a...
Hundreds of millions of people.
While it's unfortunate, it's a very small number of XSX owners who care about buying physical copies of classic games, and they don't own a PS5 or Switch already. The number has got to be microscopic, flat out irrelevant.
All of them could have easily picked a PS5 or Switch, had they paid attention to the writing on the very large and obvious wall.
You've made your choice, now learn to deal with it.
I remember in 2017 when Nintendo showed off the Metroid Prime 4 logo, and some Nintendo defenders claimed "Just because they only showed a logo, doesn't mean that's all they've worked on for the game."
As history has proven, they were wrong. Nintendo showed off a logo back in 2017 because that's literally all they had.
The game was delayed so many times, and yet it still released as an early access title.
This is happening to a lot of games, of course, and its turning me away from most modern games.
On one hand this is a disgusting business practice.
On the other hand, can you really blame any company that has idiotic consumers just begging you to con them out of $48,000+? If you were running a company and some rich dumbass was willing to pay you for digital junk, wouldn't you let them?
But still, its such a shame what our society is turning into.
Yep, this sucks having to require a jailbreak for something that should be standard in our industry by now. I learned my lesson when PS4 was jailbroken and I didn't keep a console on low firmware for years, but now I'm holding onto two low firmware PS5s specifically because there are features I'll be able to do that you can't do on official firmware, so this will pay off for me soon enough.
Indeed, the only message companies understand is when we don't buy their products in droves. Vote with your wallets. Let their games tank and fail, let them suffer the consequences of their actions, and most importantly, don't believe or accept their fake apologies (likely written by an AI bot these days!) when things don't go their way.
As long as it's not like Twin Snakes. And I hope they have the option to keep the original PSone voice tracks, which is a huge part of the appeal for me. The Twin Snakes voice tracks sounded worse, and had lame script changes as well.
Play Gravity Rush Remastered first if you haven't already, the stories are linked together. GR 2 is a fantastic game, it has a lot of stuff to see and do. In fact I have purposefully not completed the game 100% because I simply didn't want the game to end. I still have some trophies to collect, and a whole free story DLC chapter to play through.
Gravity Rush 3 would be amazing! But the team that made parts 1 and 2 were shut down, so I don't expect it to happen. ...
Its literally the worst console that's available on stores shelves you can buy. If you MUST have an Xbox, save up your money, and buy the Series X! Don't be impulsive and impatient, and rush to buy the cheap-o gimpy system just to have something straight away. Patience is a virtue and it will pay off when you get a better system.
Of course saying that, the vast (vast!) majority of us know that there are better choices available than even the Series X.
As hardware improves, gamers except better visuals to take advantage of it, which in turn causes budgets to increase every generation. These massive budgets have understandably made companies less likely to take risks.
Think about how many modern games these days have "experience points" and "skill points", or how nearly every big budget game centers around firearm shooting or melee slashing mechanics. Its gotten so stale for me. I'm trying to think ...
