If the open world map is huge, then fast travel should always be added as an OPTION. If you don't want to use it, then that's fine, don't use it. As for me, I'll use it a lot to save time. Most games are too long for their own good, and many of them are packed with filler (I've cut back on playing these games anyway), but if I'm going to play any of them, you're damn right I'm going to skip traversing the exact same path for the 20th+ time.
Its the way this site works, someone likely added this article to N4G BEFORE the State of Play went live, however not enough people approved it prior to the video's launch, and so it will sit in the "Pending" section for up to 3 days languishing until it can be automatically added if at least 1 person approves the article.
If you visit the "Pending" section (see the green number at the top of the homepage), you'll find lots of articles that are w...
Bless the adorably all digital future! When it comes to PC games its not as big of an issue because there should always be another way to access single player games, but still, I hate to see anything get delisted.
If any game out there needed more content, its MGS 4, but my second choice would be Sonic Generations, and that's what this re-release has to offer, more levels! YES!
I beat Generations 100% in the past, looking forward doing it again with this extended update.
I own 4 of those games, but unsure why Sonic Adventure 2 would be worth so much. It's been ported many times, and even as a fan of the series this game doesn't hold up.
I recently played it on PS3, and it felt so sloppy. I don't even like 2/3rds of the game, however the Sonic & Shadow stages are alright. Let's not forget the amazing LIVE & LEARN track!
If you own a Dreamcast buy a GD-EMU clone ODE, you'll save so much money, no...
Oof, your accurate post really did ruffle some feathers. 😂
I love MGS, its my favorite series ever. But the lore became a mess (game play was always fun though, and that's what matters most), and it was time to move on from it.
A new IP, unburdened from the past, a fresh start? YES! This is what I've been wanting since 2015's Phantom Pain.
I have no issue with Kojima announcing a new espionage game 6-7 years in advance. I'm a grown adult who can wait for a game to finish its development cycle.
The executives at WB want single player games to be always online so that they can control everything, all of the time. When, how, where we can play the games we paid for, and the ability to take it away from us on a whim or if their servers go down for maintenance. These douchebags can kindly eat shit and run themselves out of business. They don't deserve to be in this industry anymore, don't give them your money, you'll only make things worse off for everyone in the future.
I remember reading from certain posters that game development optimization was as simple as "turning down the sliders."
This game is going to be a disaster just like so many that have come before it. What a waste of developer's time, and publisher's money.
Let's not forget what EA, Acti, Ubi has done as well. And I'm not going to pretend that Nintendo and Sony are perfect either, because they have made a lot of mistakes too. I take issue with some of their policies, such as not being able to back up my save files locally without homebrewing the console, which is dumb!
I wish CAPCOM also ported both Miles Edgeworth games. The first game was excellent, and of course got a worldwide release, but that second game, was left to the fans for translation, what a shame.
What a disgrace Microsoft is to this industry. They're only in it for money and living room control, not giving a single shit about anyone or anything else that they mow down. Any Activison employee that may have been cheering for the merger deserves what's eventually coming to them.
Additional DRM just pushes people to pirate more. These ignorant executives just don't get it. Only the legitimate customer is affected by DRM. 😕
I've actually beaten The New Adventures of Superman. And yes it truly is a heinous piece of crap. I'd give it a score of negative 10,000.
If only they gave you checkpoints for the indoor levels it could have been a negative 10 score. But that one missing feature completely ruined any chance of it being considered 'playable' and turned it into 'torture'.
Reminder that Philly took over back in 2014, a decade ago. And MS first party has sucked for a full decade.
Coincidence? No, of course not. This is why hardware sales are so low, this idiot doesn't know how to run a video game publishing studio.
Its almost as if he's trying to sabotage his own company. What an embarrassment.
Its not often I actually have games on the 'most expensive list' but I do own Rhythm Thief and Layton vs. Ace Attorney. I believe both of them are sealed as well.
I mostly play older games using Everdrives and ODEs these days. Honestly, most modern games aren't worth your time in the first place, and thus aren't even worth pirating.
With the Switch, Nintendo disallowed us to back up our save files locally, that was the breaking point for me. They had no right to do that with us, and I decided right then and there to be a Switch pirate. I will not support these anti-consumer practices from anyone. With my hacked Switch I can e...
I just completed A Link to the Past yet again earlier today. Still holds up amazingly well.
Ubisoft, EA, Activision, Microsoft, they don't have the passion, talent, or desire to make anything that comes even close to it. And they are some of the biggest publishers out there. Our industry that we grew up loving is turning to trash because of endless greed and ignorance.
Thankfully we have 35 years of gaming history to play, and fan modders are translating new games all the time making once lost experiences now available for many more to play. The classic gaming scene is booming bigger than ever with Flashcarts, ODEs, HDMI / RGB mods, Retrotink and OSSC. Modern controllers and memory cards, and so much more.
These modern live service trash, and Ubi-junk style of games that are all filler no killer, they don't get my money, and more impo...
