100% this Mammo!
They've been screwing up for over a decade! Even if they release a game that's of the highest quality, that's nothing in the grand scheme things.
It also doesn't un-do Kinect (with lies based advertising).
Or Kinect 2 (forcing people to spend $100 extra for something they didn't even want!).
Or releasing two consoles with nothing noteworthy twice in a row (One X, Series S|X).
Every year people claim is their chance for redemption, and every year they don't redeem themselves. And even if they do release amazing games, I'm still greatly unhappy with how they run their business.
The all-digital future, rushed out first party games, embracing micro-trash-actions like there's no tomorrow, too much of a focus on services, frequently banning members of the community unfairly, releasing a new console generation with zero new games, and of co...
If true there's going to be severe backlash, if a game runs at 30 FPS on Series S, there should never be a reason why it can't run at 40 FPS on Series X.
The dev team should have known better and planned better in advance. Plan for 40 minimum in this era or earn your much deserved backlash.
Never heard of this trash, let's see:
> Zombie game. Played out unoriginal generic concept - pass!
> Survival game. Over used ideas which are specifically designed to create filler and bloat game design, such as having to constantly re-acquire food or tools that break, weapons and armor that constantly needs upgrading or fixing - pass!
> Mobile game. Micro-trash-actions everywhere, forced wait timers, or pay us real money t...
I've been mostly focused on generations from NES to PS3 eras. There's more games than I'll ever be able to finish in two life times.
As dev time increases, budgets ballooning out of control, and advertising costs trying to get the general public to know your game exists in an over crowded market, publishers don't want to take risks anymore.
I understand why companies have changed, but due to their changes in priorities, my focus has been on older generations these days.
I hate the "AI Revolution" and the way people talk about it as if its amazing and normal in our every day life. GROSS!
I'm trying to avoid all that AI crap as much as possible, its still very much in its infancy and yet everyone is trying to push it as the next big thing. Also its going to cause a lot of tech support employees to lose their jobs while also decreasing customer satisfaction. Capitalism at its worst.
Hmm, I guess its not as bad as it sounded, then? I'll read that wikipedia article to get all the details.
Don't insult my precious Dreamcast like that by comparing it to modern day Xbox. 🍥
He needs to bring back Japan Studios and re-hire all that incredible talent that they lost. PlayStation needs to focus more on what made them incredible from PS1 to PS3 eras.
Alright so if capitalism is to blame for Xbox under performing for the past decade, then please inform us what's the reason why Sony and Nintendo are doing so well?
PS4 over 120 million consoles.
NSW over 140 million handhelds.
Seems that the industry is healthy. For some.
Excellent list. I also remember Xbox defenders claiming that MS was "saving up big games" for the Xbox One X launch, which of course never arrived (unless if you count Crackdown 3? Yikes!).
Then a couple years later, the defenders claimed that MS was "saving up big games" for the Xbox Series launch, which of course, never arrived. Xbox Series was the first console release in history to launch without a single brand new game.
NOT. ONE. NEW. GAME...
"May"? Replace the word, "may" with "will". He has undoubtedly ruined Xbox to the point of no return for millions of people, including myself.
I remember 10 years ago when people on message boards had a picture of him as their avatar, and under his image they had the word "BELIEVE", as in to believe in what Phil Spencer was going to do to make Xbox better. I knew it was ludicrous and laughable back then, and its even more so today!

I was looking forward to Scalebound. Then he canceled it and claimed that it was for the good of Xbox. Ah of course! Canceling games I want to play is good for Xbox, because LOGIC!
I kid you not, I'm currently wearing my E3 Scalebound t-shirt (bought it off ebay) as I make this post. Never forget.
Xbox was a great console.
Xbox 360 was a great console.
After that -- junk.
Controller breaks easily, too. Modern analog sticks wear out, and get drift far too soon.
He has dyslexia, he meant to type "dog".
Its part of the reason why I'm losing interest in modern games. Instead of increasing the QUALITY, they are instead increasing the QUANTITY, but the issue is that all they're doing is shoving more mediocre, boring slog, repetitive grindy trash down our throats.
A 10 hour masterpiece that doesn't get stale by the end has more replay value and is more worthy of my money, and more importantly worthy of my lifespan, than a 100 hour filler Ubi-junk game. I was a big ...
I remember when it was announced that he was leaving Tango, someone on N4G claimed that he was old and it was time for him to retire.
I couldn't help but laugh at the ignorance. Mikami (like most Japanese people), do not want to work for Microsoft, they want their games to be played by their fellow citizens, which means Switch, Playstation, and PC. But this fool couldn't comprehend that. 🤣
Was waiting for his return announcement, glad to s...
The embarrassing need for constant instant gratification.
Publishers need to be held accountable, of course, so what shall we do about that? BUY BUY BUY BUY BUY RIGHT NOW! Problem solved! Congrats.
Or, perhaps, not buy everything immediately? Not pre-order broken micro-trash-action filled games? I know the correct solution, but it appears that many do not.
But if they did then we'd know in advance it was from a useless blowhard.
