Balan was knowingly rushed out by S-E, it had an extremely short dev cycle and was fairly low budget.
Naka was the game's director until near the end when he was fired or perhaps he quit, I forgot.
Gosh, I was so sick of teraflop talk from 2019-2020. The truth is teraflops don't matter, just games people want to play. Teraflops doesn't sell hardware, games do. Its such a simple concept to figure out. Xbox Series was the first console in history to release with zero new games. ZERO! It was so obvious from the start that this generation for MS was going to be an embarrassing dud. I was laughing internally every time people said that MS has "learned from last gen" and tha...
Stupid spoiled kids that will look back at their past and cringe at their terrible decisions.
Not to worry, mods don't look at old articles anyway. Anyway thanks for sharing, I want to read about their history, for "scientific research purposes." :)
No Ubi-junk, I don't think so. I feel good knowing that this company no longer gets my money.
Imagine paying extra to play a rushed out unpolished Ubi-junk game early. What a joke.
Yes! I replayed the game back in 2020 on PS4 and got the Platinum Trophy.
For old folks we don't care that they graphics are outdated, but younger people may have an adjustment period. However I believe the art design, music, and overall enjoyment of the game will eventually hook in younger gamers if they stick with it.
Don't blame developers, they often aren't in charge of these situations and they don't control the money. Blame the publishers, they are the group that decides when to shutdown servers.
Reminder that Michael Pachter believed heavily in the Intellivision Amico, and truly thought that it was going to shake up the industry.
You remember the Amico, yeah? Its the system that never came out. How's that prediction of yours going, Patcher? 🤣
The fact that he gets paid to write this drivel is ludicrous and hilarious! People should pay this guy to NOT be an analyst! 🤔
But if they did then we'd know in advance it was from a useless blowhard.
100% this Mammo!
They've been screwing up for over a decade! Even if they release a game that's of the highest quality, that's nothing in the grand scheme things.
It also doesn't un-do Kinect (with lies based advertising).
Or Kinect 2 (forcing people to spend $100 extra for something they didn't even want!).
Or releasing two consoles with nothing noteworthy twice in a row (One X, Series S|X).
Every year people claim is their chance for redemption, and every year they don't redeem themselves. And even if they do release amazing games, I'm still greatly unhappy with how they run their business.
The all-digital future, rushed out first party games, embracing micro-trash-actions like there's no tomorrow, too much of a focus on services, frequently banning members of the community unfairly, releasing a new console generation with zero new games, and of co...
If true there's going to be severe backlash, if a game runs at 30 FPS on Series S, there should never be a reason why it can't run at 40 FPS on Series X.
The dev team should have known better and planned better in advance. Plan for 40 minimum in this era or earn your much deserved backlash.
Never heard of this trash, let's see:
> Zombie game. Played out unoriginal generic concept - pass!
> Survival game. Over used ideas which are specifically designed to create filler and bloat game design, such as having to constantly re-acquire food or tools that break, weapons and armor that constantly needs upgrading or fixing - pass!
> Mobile game. Micro-trash-actions everywhere, forced wait timers, or pay us real money t...
I've been mostly focused on generations from NES to PS3 eras. There's more games than I'll ever be able to finish in two life times.
As dev time increases, budgets ballooning out of control, and advertising costs trying to get the general public to know your game exists in an over crowded market, publishers don't want to take risks anymore.
I understand why companies have changed, but due to their changes in priorities, my focus has been on older generations these days.
I hate the "AI Revolution" and the way people talk about it as if its amazing and normal in our every day life. GROSS!
I'm trying to avoid all that AI crap as much as possible, its still very much in its infancy and yet everyone is trying to push it as the next big thing. Also its going to cause a lot of tech support employees to lose their jobs while also decreasing customer satisfaction. Capitalism at its worst.
Hmm, I guess its not as bad as it sounded, then? I'll read that wikipedia article to get all the details.
Don't insult my precious Dreamcast like that by comparing it to modern day Xbox. 🍥
Nothing.
Hoping the game turns out great.
