I love my Xbox 360 as a multi-media player. I've got one upstairs on the big TV and one downstairs.

I use bittorrent and dload rss torrents via Vuze, and watch them at my leisure.

I've got a server that I stream shows from. I download HD movies from Marketplace too.

'one bad experienc'?

Huh? The reviwers and reports of SOCOM being unplayably buggy are numerous.

SOCOM has a metacritic score of 6.0/10 as a result.

Heck, the game doesnt even have a 1st person campaign; and the MP is broken.

What are you talking about "one person"? Its universal. SOCOM is the lastest PS3's Lair still-born games.

Frontlines: Fuel of War has no issue with 50 person Multiplayer.

Nor did the Xbox Original have last gen with 60 player MP.

I wonder what SOCOM's devs did that is so terribly wrong?

The PS3 is not a productive development environment. I suspect this problem -- of which, SOCOM is just the latest example -- to continue.

The heat issue was fixed last summer.

And, your post is simply off-topic trolling.

You're not old enough to have owned a Sega console are you?

Its happened *many* times before.

Listen, I know its hard for some people to understand, but the market generally has never been able to support more than one or two machines. Every generation, some console rises to the top and by mid-generation, it sucks all the oxygen and gravity out of the industry and 3rd parties STOP supporting the last place console. Sure, it may play "lip service", an...

"But this article further proves the fact that just because something is cheaper means people will buy it"

Newsflash: Price matters in the marketplace. And, there is absolutely NO reason to pretend otherwise. The Xbox 360 delivers a vastly superior value to its users; a better product (in exclusives and superior performing mutli-platform) at a better price.

End of story.

"If Microsoft weren't the owner of the most popular programs and OS their losses would be 5 times harder than Sony's losses. It's a hard time for everyone not just Sony."

A) MS just announced results that exceeded expectations. Sony's trouble is *SONY's* trouble, not simply the market.

B) And, if my Aunt was a man she'd be my uncle.

"It gave them the edge to win the next gen media format "

No, no it didnt. It made it necessary for them to give hundreds of millions of dollars to its MPAA partners in order for them to drop HD-DVD.

PS3 didnt end HD-DVD, Sony's many-hundreds-of-million-dolla rs payments did.

Had sony *not* done that, BR & PS3 would have been absolutely in the toilet.

It was a "in for a penny in for a pound" situation, and ba...

Hey, N4G, way to give traffic (encouragement) to publish spoilers.

Oh, and good job submitter for not putting "SPOILER" in the title.

"sure MSFT will go through a similar thing"

No. Sony's stock collapse isnt due as much to external market conditions as it is Sony's own poor performance.

Microsoft just annoucned (this week) better-than-expected results;

"Microsoft's earnings rose to $4.37 billion, or 48 cents a share, from $4.29 billion, or 45 cents a share in the same period last year. Sales improved 9 percent to $15.1 billion. "

"What do you think would happen if the ps3 had a 30% failure rate?
It would be out of business"

#1) The Xbox 360 heat issues were resolved in Summer 07.
#2) All owners who have a problem get a free fix.
#3) The failure rate isnt near 30%, that is made-up internet garbage. The rate is less than half that (as we learned when the 3rd party warranty company revealed its numbers earlier this year) -- and only for early designs.
#4) I **KNOW** ...

Thats right child, go hide away from reality under your familiar "they're out to get me(or sony/ps3)" defense.

Its cute. The whole world is in consipiracy to lie about your favorite brand. Sure. Gotcha.

You're being dishonest.

Yes, the financial crisis isnt helping, but Sony as a company is in very big trouble. It bet heavily on PS3 -- and no matter how much you wish otherwise, it is not going well for the PS3.

But, overall, this Sony collapse has to do with big issues within Sony. They are loosing serious marketshare in many places, not just consoles.

This isnt "bad journalism" - its you refusing to acknowledge that Sony *is* doing ve...

"Cnet is not owned by MS but they are partners"

What are you talking about? In ever CNet article, someone comes in and says this ridiculous garbage.

CNET IS OWNED BY CBS.

Only the most naive, ill prepared, poorly adjusted child attacks the messenger and not the message.

Perhaps the SDF needs a lesson in literacy and media. Sheesh.

Oh, btw, did I mention CNET IS OWNED BY CBS.

"If you look at the most popular games for the 360 they are not exactly games for the casual gamer."

And yet, Madden, Guitar Hero, Rock Band, EA Sports, Skate and other "non-core" games sell better on Xbox 360.

Guitar Hero III: 3.35 Wii, 3.49 Xbox 360, 1.61 PS3.
Madden 2008: 2.35M Xbox 360, 0.88 PS3.
