[UPDATE]: Media Molecule lets us know that, no, we're not losing our minds, the servers for LBP are down. They took them down about eight hours after they went live to avoid "glitching issues" some people were seeing that was affecting offline play. They tell us that the servers will be back online just as soon they can get their hands on whatever little SackGremlin is causing the problems in their servers.

Its *REALLY* funny that you-all are saying "oh, kotaku hates sony" -- hey, did you read the article?

Did you notice the part that says Media Molecule **CONFIRMS** this?

And, you people are doing the usual bend-over-excuse routine.

LBP's launch is a total debacle, deal with it. First the two week "muslim song delay" (yeah, right, how about "we need 2 weeks to try and fix the servers"...

Sony knew it coul...

Wow. After the Dead-on-arrival-Failure that was SOCOM, you'd think Sony would do some proper quality control and testing.

Ouch, what a joke.

"L4D it's a one trick pony that i'd only complete one time through"

The game is being lauded for its re-play-ablity via its AI Director, an innovative technology that generates the enemies during the campaign mode.

So, the Campaign mode is being praised and designed to have excellent "replay".

Secondly, it has a unique 4 Survivors vs 4 Special, Super Zombies (in addition to the AI zombies) giving the Multiplayer a fresh, never-b...

Hm, do I cancel my pre-order or go for this Amazon deal..

no matter, I must have Left 4 Dead on my Xbox 360 on day 1. I will probably stick with my existing pre-order.

"8 million users"

Huh? LBP hasnt sold more than 2-300k copies at launch. Not a chance.

@32.1

"does the xbox have user created content"?

Yes, Halo 3 excels at user-generated content.

And, the Xbox 360 goes far further than just level creation. You can download and run whole new games, coded from scratch using the free XNA SDK.

So, yes, the Xbox 360 has user generated content -- more of it in fact.

Geremy Regard (comment #11, right above) is talking *TO YOU*.

Sony probably pressured them.

With the barrier to entry for the media being so low (ie; websites cost $50 to start), places like IGN (and othes) cant stand up to them (or the rest).

One call "remove that shait or we pull our advertising" and POOF, its gone.

Its true for sony and the rest... that is why sites like metacritic are so important.

computerandvideogames.com is a very respected site.

You're reaching for straws.

Problems at launch generally happen, however there is no excuse for major deal-breakers still exist with SOCOM.

The question becomes, how fast can they fix these LBP issues..

Wait too long, and people will turn on them just as quick as they can.

"MS really is selling out the hardcore gamer."

What the heck are you talking about? Do you think all video-game players are frustrated 12 year old boys?

You people are _REALLY_ trying hard to find nonsense reasons to hate on MS.

"this article is bunk"

What, are you telling us you've got high standards? We've all seen your intellectual dishonesty here, please spare us the FUD.

The author likes the NXE, i venture that most wil as well.

I've used Vista since day one -- havent had a single issue with it.

I do look forward to Windows 7, there are some killer new features. Now I've just got to get my hands on that pre-beta build they're releasing tomorrow, I'll put it on my home-desktop.

@12.1

Just cant accept reality I see. Usual child-like response, attack the journalist. If you look, you'll see that this is a product of exceptional journalism; actual *research*.

Read the article, he spoke with meany devs - and he quotes them, and provides sources.

You're complaining is just sad.

Oh, and btw; "sometimes mandatory" -- on *some* games, the install is mandatory. On *some* games it is not mandatory.
...

6341d ago 0 agree1 disagreeView comment

No. The reason for installs is because Bluray is a MPAA-favoured movie-format, not for fast (and random) data throughput.

Viva Pinata is a wonderful game. If you've got a GF have her try it. Its a terrific, playful and fun game.

I concur, but would add Kameo to the underrated titles list.

Also, he's got it 100% correct about Frontlines: Fuel of War; if you like big-multi-player battles -- with vehciles, abilities and special weapons -- Frontlines is for you.

Check out Frontlines or Kameo, you wont be disappointed.
