Gears of War 2 is absolutely terrific.
Easily the best looking video-game in the market, the campaign is awesome (a jaw-dropping wild-ride) -- and, the mulit-player is expertly tuned... with Horde mode being just awesome.

Actually, I think their opinion on JRPG games (which are mostly developed locally and for the local market) are a pretty good indicator.
