Good points, I believe that after capturing a rift it 'mines' energy for you at a certain rate. There could be multiple rifts around the map to fight over.
I only got to play the single player game so I don't have much insight on team dynamics but I can imagine how it might play out. When building certain things in single player they came with NPCs or vehicles, I would imagine these might act like spawn points for players, extending the ar...
Starhawk was my personal fave, it's blend of TPS with RTS elements makes for an new, intense and deep gameplay experience.
If I had to choose between those listed then Batman:AC would get my vote but only because I had already played the crap outta Uncharted 3 beta before going to the show.
I wonder what the porn to game ratio on that drive is?
Now that I've seen him in person I agree, he has a quick wit and seems genuinely down to earth. I can now see three people who I think would fill the role nicely: Nolan North, Nathan Fillion and David Boreanaz.
Sneaky, they said we weren't allowed to film anything :)
I'm literally on my way home from Eurogamer right now, had an awesome time. Got to play Skyrim, Batman:AC, Starhawk, Rage, etc. Also got my hands on a Vita for the first time :) I may go blog myself later.
Oh also seen Nolan North live with a live demo of that Uncharted sand level
sorry... /smug
Lol I'm not gonna debate what buttons are the best; I was just pointing out that the PS ones are more iconic than cliffy gives them credit for. Why does everything have to be reduced to a bloody childish competition!?
Good interview.
Now that Epic is done with Gears, they have the opportunity to create a new multi-plat game to show what their engine is really capable of over all platforms.
Excellent article and I agree with it completely.
Cliffy tends to get overly defensive of his 'babies', I can understand his desire to protect his interests but he doesn't really think before opening his trap.
I'm still shocked by his ignorant comments on the Playstation buttons! I mean, come on, the square, circle, cross and triangle are as iconic and synonymous with gaming as the Mario mushroom.
So slim models, wifi, RROD fix, quieter fans were what?
OK so I guess they have a point as far as graphics go but you're still paying for those 'hardware' upgrades through service subscription fees.
To be clear I think Onlive is a good idea just implemented before it's time, when connection speeds are faster and more readily available then streaming media will become mainstream. Until then though dedicated physical hardware is the way to go. ...
You must copy/paste the original title from the article and also use the first paragraph of the article as the description.
Click the little gears icon at the bottom left of the picture and press edit.
Either way you look at it, a price drop increases sales and if MS don't respond then their lead gap will shrink at a higher rate. TBH a couple of million units difference between consoles is almost nothing anyway; the only reason people want to see any sort of major change is so that they can argue about it in comments sections like this one.
I would definitely of went to this but I have Eurogamer Expo a few days beforehand and I'm guessing I'll get to play most of those games there anyway.
Also STARHAWK & SKYRIM!! /excited
I don't want any COD on my Halo! Please stop letting that game influence every bloody game that comes out! /rant.
Well written article and I respect the writers interpretation even though I disagree.
It seems most of the ties he mentions are based around a tense feeling of suspense brought on by gears gameplay. However I would argue that there are many other games, which better convey this feeling i.e. Dead Space, Resistance etc.
I'm thinking that the author is just playing on the current date and the release date/hype of Gears 3 to generate hits, although in an int...
Punching the dead pee in?
lol my mistake, its out of 10, sorry.
Actually its necessary because todays sue happy culture would flood Sony's Lawyers inbox with their self-entitled requests for money after 'accidentally' being 'emotionally damaged' from smacking their social worker round the chops with the business end of a Move controller.
We should all blame Sony though, actually we should sue for 'loss of earnings' due to the few seconds we had to wait for those screens to pop up, we're entitled right?
There was a digital foundry article on the subject of 3d on 360, which stated...
"However, there is a possibility that the 360 will be unable to match the true 720p per eye introduced by HDMI 1.4 and supported on PS3. The move to a 1080p framebuffer to accommodate full resolution seems like a step too far, and questions remain about whether the 1080p side-by-side format is actually fully supported in the HDMI 1.4 spec."

Got a chance to play Rage at Eurogamer Expo, imo it didn't have enough RPG elements to contend with Fallout. I came away with the the predictable feeling of "just another pretty shooter".
