It's a wise decision if you've never played them before and, even if you have, you get to re-live these masterpieces in HD or even 3D.
I'm buying roughly four games this September but, if I could only buy one, this would definitely be my first choice.

Sounds like the entire article and reason for author to dismiss the games entire multiplayer is based on "a few rounds" of a beta.

Just because she's lead in an awful, awful, sickeningly awful series of movies there's no need to paint everything she's in with the same brush. Plenty of good actors/actresses have done terrible movies in the past but, come on, it's a movie about aliens and alternate time-lines, it's hardly asking for Shakespeare.
I doubt Kinect will ever resonate well with "the average xbox owner" but what's wrong with that? Let it be what it is and hope for the sake of gaming that MS doesn't shift to much of it's weight behind it next gen.
They made the right decision, vehicle 'sections' can be awful, see Gears 1 spotlight car thingy or Uncharted: drakes Fortune's annoying jet ski part. If done right and they fit with the game, they can be a delightful distraction but very few developers seem to get it just right.
The original Resistance was an excellent launch title and was in no way "rushed". The Resistance series carries with it an unjustified stigma simply for being part of the PS3s slow launch. It sad that people write off these great games, sometimes without ever giving it any real chance to prove the bad press wrong.

Microsoft has created a great online community experience and given it the feeling of a premium service through the requirement to pay for 'gold membership'. They would not give this up easily, however I think it would be very simple for them to offer some kind of bare-bones service to compete with what all other systems offer.
I believe that, after paying for a console, game and access to the internet, free online gameplay should be the basic right of any gamer.
