Sounds like they have a brilliant work ethic and it shows in their games.
Easily done if they went multi-plat, never understood why Epic chose to make the showcase game for their engine an exclusive. Surely they would get more exposure and more developers using their engine if they showed just what can be done with it on PC/PS3 too. Rocksteady managed to tame the PS3 beast and make Batman:AA look great on all platforms using Unreal engine, why can't Epic?
Lol you have to wonder what kind of person goes to all the trouble of lowering GT5 pic resolutions to satisfy his fanboyism. It's borderline sociopathic, wouldn't surprise me if it's the same guy who did the GT5 slo-mo loading video.
I would appreciate an actual unbiased comparison by LOT or DF but this 'article' is just fanboy trash at its most ugly.
Anyone got a spare code? Really wanna get stuck into this game.
"With only a few short weeks to go until the official release date..."
There's nothing short about the weeks between me and this game. At least I've got Resistance, Gears, Child of Eden and Batman until then. Damn, I'm falling behind and SOOOO many games coming!
I mostly cringed.
Not really Kinect fails more a fail on the part of the people playing.
I do have a US an Japanese PSN already but I'd really like to get the MP going on my primary UK account. Is it definitely only compatible with US PSN accounts, has anyone tried it out on a UK one yet?
If I got hold of a code would I be able to use it here in the UK?
If someone could PM me with a spare code I'd be very grateful.
^_^
Just goes to show how a different reviewer can hate a game that another loved. Kind of unjust how they don't mention exactly why this version is less of a game than the Kinect endeavor? Well £15 and a free t-shirt, it's still worth a look :)
Another classic raped into submission to better appeal to the mainstream 'gamer'. Sometimes I wish gaming was a niche hobby again ¬_¬
I watched the new gameplay video live at Eurogamer with Nolan North commenting; the things they're doing with sand are just incredible. It may not be a giant 'slap-in-the-face' leap like U:DF to U:AT but it's definitely an improvement.
Watching the boat rock on the 'cruise ship' level, not from just preset animations but, from a dynamic water physics simulation is just... well... I don't have words for it.
I can't wait to see this game in 3D! Looks like it was made for it, gonna be pretty trippy :P
Congrats to Midlifegamer.net, it's a worthy cause, everyone should get to experience the joy of gaming!
You're aware that it's a handheld game right? A 5 inch screen doesn't require massive resolution to look 'HD'.
Pointless comments aside, even stretched out on a projector screen at Eurogamer the game looks great. Since I didn't get a chance to see it running on the Vita itself, I can only imagine how good it looks there.
Yeah that does feel missing from the single player but we haven't seen much of it yet. Although the enemies do feel different, depending on what weapons/vehicles they're using, the SP campaign needs an environmental 'wild card' or it risks becoming nothing more than a bunch of MP scenarios against AI with a story.
I'm thinking local wildlife mutated by rift energy that glow and explode when you shoot them, let's call them 'lambents'.
...
It was quite hilarious actually, all in good fun :)
To be honest I'm not sure if the building killed me or the nearby grenade that I was trying to avoid at the time. I noticed that, when I dropped the rift generator, I was near the rift but not in the centre of the 'drop zone'. When the generator came down I was pushed back automatically; so there may be a small chance I was wrong about being squashed, although it did look that way.
Yeah, I remember that, I liked how they used the same sounds from C&C. What was it, like ten years ago?
There is really no comparison to Starhawk here though, other than they're both shooters. One is a FPS/TPS based on an RTS universe and the other is a new gameplay hybrid of both genres.
When placing buildings in the demo you get a couple of seconds of 'warning lights' displayed where pods are about to fall. My guess is that you will have time to dodge if you're quick. Oh and you CAN get squashed by your own buildings as I discovered, much to the amusement of the people watching behind me ¬_¬
Niles, you only seem to comment whenever this particular blog is submitted to N4G now why do you suppose that is huh? Could you be deliberately trolling in an attempt to raise the heat on this submission, no no of course not, things like that could get you banned huh?
This is also a personal blog post, no matter how they dress it up, it really shouldn't have been approved.
