"Pass the controller, bro..."
I got about 5 hours into Lords of Shadow 2 and just gave up. It was such a massive step back from the first game IMO and ruined the most exciting premise (you play as F***ING DRACULA in the modern age!) I'd yet seen in a Castlevania game. Terrible stealth sections, boring level design, cringeworthy cutscenes, lack of variety, nothing to the story, and while the first game looked magnificent and had great art, this one looked dull, grey and boring in comparison. Combat was still strong but...
Many are unable to discern the difference between difficulty and challenge. Too often a "hard mode" just means higher damage from enemies, less health for players, and other lazy "numbers on a slider" changes that often end up being a test not of your ability to play the game, but your ability to exploit overpowered techniques over and over and over again until you win. Or in some cases, your ability to grind for an eternity, or to simply get lucky with an RNG factor.
It really is a shame. I've been a huge Tekken fan ever since the original on PS1, and despite being pumped for T7's release my hype was swiftly kicked into the dirt. Fewer modes than previous games, far more limited customisation than previous games, unimpressive story mode that makes Scenario Campaign look good in comparison, missing features from previous games like character leaderboards and downloadable replays from any player of your choosing, increased offline input lag, connect...
Agreed. There are hundreds of other "hard" games out there but for some reason nobody remembers them. And anyway, Dark Souls can't be that hard if (going by trophies) more than 50% of players have completed it, and a fair number have platinumed it. Compare that to Trackmania Turbo where less than 0.2% have even unlocked the final series, and way, way less than 0.1% have managed to get gold on all events. (And that's not even the end of it as to you need Trackmaster rank in a...
About flippin' time! Putting an intentional 7 frames of offline lag was just bonkers.
Next Mario game announcement:

"Plumbing has changed."
It's cool man, no game is for everybody. We all have different preferences and that should be respected. :)
I wouldn't say underwhelming, but last gen was so absolutely amazing and saw some great new IPs that hit their stride, that in comparison this gen is a bit behind. Overall last gen had more out-of-the-blue surprise masterpieces and this gen I've had more disappointments. But I think the best is yet to come.
Seems a little early for that IMO. Unless you desperately need the money I'd wait at least another year or so and see what gets announced.
If there was a "man only" gaming event people would be up in arms. Why should the reaction be different if it's the other way around?
I support EQUAL RIGHTS to all people regardless of gender, race, ethnicity or sexuality. If you oppose that then you are by dictionary definition, a bigot.
I think you may be right. Several Japanese devs have fallen into the trap of trying to "westernize" their games and ironically, put off a lot of the western audience, like Resident Evil 6.
Danganronpa AE: UDG was totally an exception to the rule. I was half expecting it to be a bit lacking but once I started playing I just couldn't put it down!
Yep, I expected as much back when I first saw gameplay footage. I love VC 1+2 but will not be getting this.
Unless I find I'm really not enjoying it, I make sure to finish all my games. That's not to say I don't have a backlog though...
Feel the same way about MGSV. I absolutely love Metal Gear, have done since MGS on PS1, but I found MGSV to be boring and uninteresting. It did nothing to take advantage of being open world, crap story, and mostly dull missions. I put 30 hours into it, desperately hoping for the experience to get better, clinging to memories of Metal Gear greatness, before I quit out of sheer boredom. By far the biggest gaming disappointment of my entire life, even over the likes of Deus Ex: Invisible War.
Okay, I'm hyped for Detroit and all and I feel different from LarZen on the matter, but damn guys, how difficult is it to believe that he owns a PS4? He just proved it and you immediately jump to "Photoshop." How far up Sony's a**hole are your heads that you legitimately can't comprehend someone who just so happens to dislike a particular Sony exclusive. Is it really so unbelievably baffling? I've been a Sony fan ever since PS1 and there are plenty of Sony exclusives...
While I did like capturing and battling with familiars from the first game, there were a couple issues with it. By the end of my game, Oliver's team of 3 was made up of the 2 familiars you're given as part of the story, and then a monolith type with high defence to tank enemy super moves. I feel there should have been more reason to mix and match and update your team as time went on, when instead I would just capture familiars to pass off to the AI characters, who weren't particul...
The thing that puts me off Sonic Mania is that a lot of its content will be cut straight from early Sonic games, with a few new ones like Studiopolis sprinkled in. What's so hard about making a new Sonic game with tons of new content?
For comparison look at Rayman Origins and Rayman Legends, two games from a series with a much, much smaller fanbase than Sonic with a relatively small budget, yet has fantastic visuals, imaginative level design, plenty of variety in terms...
Oh for f***'s sakes, stop saying things are the "Dark Souls of something" because they're difficult. There are tons of hard games out there. Plus, Lion King is nothing like Dark Souls at all. The games are difficult for completely different reasons. So stop it, all of you. It's getting old.
