That's... actually kind of clever.
But still, I would've hoped this was a free update. I'd be up for playing as female soldiers to mix things up but I'm not going to pay for it.
Well PERSONAlly I like that's long, even if I'm nowhere near completing it! (About 60 hours in right now) You can feel genuine progress and there's always the promise of something on the horizon, whether it's a twist in the storyline or somewhere new to explore.
I'll be honest, when the first claims of it being 100 hours for just the main story came about I didn't believe them. So many games this gen have the adage of being smaller, with less conten...
Well, either the devs haven't found the magical port button that comes with every dev kit or they deliberately want to make as little money as possible. Those are the only reasons, I'm sure. ;)
But anyway, it's funny when people do everything to demand a multiplat utopia but then stop making noise so long as it hits PC/XBO/PS4. (Or in some cases, so long as it hits PC, nothing else matters) Where's my Vita port? 3DS? Switch? Wii U? Smartphone? Come on, peop...
So many people are convinced that exclusives (or games that are only on select platforms) only ever exist because corporate fat cat console manufacturers push money across the table and put a stranglehold on the videogame market, whipping the knuckles of innocent developers who "just wanna make games for the people!" and forcing them to make games for only their systems. They are convinced that this is the one and only reason games are not released on every current platform, that th...
I'd love to see one, but I doubt it'd happen, at least for several years.
In a competitive industry, exclusives are an inevitability. The only way to get rid of them is to tear down the industry and enforce a single gaming platform. Sounds great, but the who's to say that one platform will provide you with what you want? Forget any innovative controller setups or handhelds. Why would the manufacturers bother with pricing competitively, bother trying new things and pushing the boundaries If there's no competition to take away their sales? And also, there'...
I agree it's a great game. Loved all the different ways you could tackle missions, characters were always entertaining, and it was just all around addictive.
Agreed. Games like Dark Souls and especially Until Dawn are deliberately made with autosaving in mind, while in many other games manual saving is a must to allow players to trial different possibilities and see whether they want to take that route or not. All games are different and are designed to give different experiences.
Valve used to make games. Now they make money.
But according to many people here on N4G all devs should strive towards money money money or they're complete morons, so...
In the past, people looked forward to newer games that would have improved graphics, improved sound, more refined gameplay, more content and bigger worlds. Nowadays it's a case of "oh, they made the graphics better so they didn't have the budget for the same amount of content" or "oh, if they want to attract more fans they have to dumb down the game" or "oh, they didn't want to try anything too 'out there' because they were worried about making the...
Personally, I have never felt the need to listen to my own playlist when playing games. Each game has its own particular soundtrack made to fit the tone of the game. I would rather stick with what the developer intended than tailor make my own soundtrack.
When GTA IV came out I remember tons of people labelling it a disappointment, saying San Andreas was better, scoffing at its high metacritic, and saying everyone who said it was the best GTA was just riding the hype train.
And then when GTA V came out I remember everyone suddenly saying how GTA IV was the true masterpiece, and GTA V was a huge disappointment, scoffing at its high metacritic, and that anyone who called it the best GTA was just riding the hype train.
Woah, seriously? 150 million? If they can't finish the game with that amount there's no hope.
I have to wonder if the huge ad campaigns that cost publishers tens of millions are actually worth it. I mean, provided there's a bit of coverage out there, most gamers would surely be aware of the bigger titles, right? How many people buy nothing then see a snazzy trailer repeated 50 times on YouTube and think, "yeah, I should buy that now." Maybe it's just me but I think that stuff should be toned down. Do we honestly think GTAV would have sold only a few copies if its ad ...
Just had a look on Amazon and damn, Puyo Puyo Tetris is £42 on Switch while I got it on PS4 for just £20. That's a pretty big difference. :S
What an insightful article! I will never like stories in my games again!
Said no-one, ever.
Absolute insanity. They better no get rid of Kuma because of this...
I can't speak for Persona 5 as I'm only a little way into it, but in Persona 4 it was possible for your potential love interests to friendzone you if you chose certain dialogue options. You would still get your social link to max rank, but it would be made very clear they didn't have feelings for you.
So... You'd better treat Ann in the right way... *nervous laughter*
And I guess all those otome dating sims where you play as a girl who can choose from a variety of handsome guys is horrendous and offensive too, right? Better chase those developers (mostly women) out of the industry, right? Or is it okay to objectify men because something something Patriarchy?
Male entitlement my ass... THEY ARE MADE OF PIXELS!
As a massive Tekken fan (have been playing since the original on PS1) I think it's good, if a little underwhelming. Story mode is pretty bad and IMO worse than Tekken 6 Scenario Campaign, the online mode needs a revamp, (especially tournament mode, some bone-headed design choices there) connection issues and supposedly 5 bar opponents becoming 2 bar once the match starts, fewer modes than previous games, (no survival, team battle, time attack etc) customisation options are worse and more ...
