vista is rock stable at this time.. sure it had some problems at launch.
i would have a hard time deciding to jump to windows7 at the moment. at least not until it got its first sp update.
try using a pc with more then 500megs of ram and 1ghz processor to run vista.. that should help.

i will say xbox makes a very good platform to test the games for free before they are bought for the pc ;-) i see no reason to pay micrsoft taxes for low res game.
the ones microsoft denies to pc.. i will shamelessly pirate them on the box :P

you have to be out of your mind to be saying ppl arent enjoying AAA titles on the pc.
its a fact pc games have a much longer life then any console game.
SC1, diablo, warcraft3, counter strike just to name afew.
also the fact that you dont need to reinvest buying an old pc to run those games.
you could do that on any modern pc... hell i could even play all the console games from ps1, n64, snes era on the pc an...
you cant play pc games on a console either.
however.. its not a problem owning a console and a pc.. buy the exclusives on the consoles.. buy all the multiplats on the pc.. since it is cheaper that way.
console games are too costly.
a 150$ gpu is all it takes for your 2 yr old pc to do true 1080p @60 fps, and the cheaper games will pay of the upgrade.

it will outperform both the consoles put together.
while the gaming will be much cheaper.. cause games just are cheaper on the pc ;-)

check out a g275 at 150usd.. it does 1080p easy
check out a 4890 at 180usd.. it does 1600p most of the time
gpus are just too powerful now, any of these above mentioned gpus are about 300% the power of an xbox.
hell even a 2yr old 8800gtx does 1080p easy with all graphics maxxed out.

ummm no fps on the 360 and ps3 is just a shadhow of what its on the PC.
lets not even mention the 3 together.
360 or the ps3 do 30fps tops on most fps games dipping down to 25fps at heavy scenes... they cant really compare to a pc which is doing anywhere between 90fps to 180fps+ along with mouse keyboard support which actually allows the good players to shine.

MMOs have alot of content... ppl who are hooked on mmos dont generally buy too many games.
MMOs are a huge time sink and can be very good entertainment.
pay 15usd for an mmo per months vs 59usd for 4-5 games a month.
imo mmo is the cheapest form of entertainment one can get.
microsoft already charges consoles users 10usd extra per game bought... why do they need to charge f...
