isnt gaylo low res and sub 720p haha.. oh wait he must be comparing it against the 360 version of crysis 2 which will be crap too.
both of those games listed above dont stand a chance agsint the real deal crysis 2 pc.
the good news is it doesnt reset once a generation is over. it keeps growing.
"During the last calendar year the platform surpassed 25 million active accounts, up 25% from the prior year. Of the 25 million accounts, over 10 million of those have profiles in the Steam Community.
In addition to the millions of new accounts created during the year, the peak number of concurrent users eclipsed the 2.5 million mark during the month of December, pushing Steam's average monthly player minutes to more than 13 billion.
Meanwhile, Steam now of...
i skipped on mw2.. i wouldnt even rent this franchise anyomore. id say they are simply selling based on past success. If mw2 would have been released as a new IP it would have flopped hard.
you can use steam now to cross game chat text or voice.. its become awesome.
i bought about 70 games on steam now.. in the last 2 years. had those games been bought on consoles, i would have ended up paying an extra 1200 usd atleast. not to mention when the console gen ends, all my games will still be playable.
pc gaming rocks ;-)
warcraft 3 is still installed on my pc, and my most played rts of all time.
This will be a worthy replacement.
was great playing the pc version @ 1920*1200 very high settings with 60fps. Might consider getting the dlcs on the pc.
loading that up with 4dual slot cards would have an insane power requirement, along with all those cpus.
beside the point this is obviously not made for casual pc gamer.
asides crysis, even a midrange gpu is more then enough to run todays games @ 1080p 60fps+ 4xaa etc.
Unless a jump in graphics level doesnt come, there will be no point for further upgrades.
you do know.. choosing an xbox over a pc is actually more costly and inferior experience.
well screen shots aside the fps is also very important
i am sure a midrange pc gpu like the gx260 will run this game @60fps + everything maxed out @ 1080p (gpu costs 150usd or less)
what will the xbox or ps3 be doing under heavy fights? it might chug down to 10fps who knows?
@beans
just plug it into the usb slot it will work. you might need to get drivers from the microsoft website.. if you are using windows xp.
with vista and windows 7 they get the driver themselves.
you can use the ps3 controller on the pc too.. with motionjoy.. its awesome.
i been using ps3 controller on pc wirelessly now.. only difference is pc games are cheaper. and pc runs at full hd 1080p + the frame rates are untouchable by conso...
lol mw2 isnt photorealistic. infact it looks like a last gen game now even on the PC.
funny how mw2 gets hyped so much.
id rather get a 15inch laptop from sager or so.
i have one with a gtx260m plays all games at 1080p maxed out (asides crysis).
i have the ps3 controller hooked up to it wirelessly. whenever i travel, the laptop is with me. does all my work + i can hook it up to any hdmi tv use it like a console lol except way better.
done properly rigs dont need upgrades every 6months.. its more like 4-5years
if you think pcs need upgrades every 6 months you are doing it wrong.
i still have a 3yr old rig with me which has the following specs:
2.4ghz dual core cpu
8800gtx
2gb ram
still plays all games better then any console can.
i built it around 1000usd when the ps3 was 600usd.
however the rig does everything.. ps3 doe...
the Wii is probably the best platform to get them started on.
L4d2 can be alot of fun, i know my wife likes to play that alot. we setup my gaming laptop just next to my pc then play l4d2 together online.
I used to play wow for a while, she also likes playing that cause its so social.
half life 2 (pc)
far cry 1 (pc)
doom 3 (pc)
dungeon keeper 2 (played that game few months ago, still looks nice 1999 game)
any mario game (all the way from the gamecube era)
GT3 (ps2)
pc gamer here.. i dont own any console. neither would i ever.
if this keeps up we wont see progress in games for 5-7years till a console gen ends sad.
on a positive side pc gamers dont need any upgrdes either if this keeps up, since graphics are not being taken to the next lvl. this makes the PC platform by far the cheapest and superior platform to game on. not to mention the most versatile.
evidence of this is rigs with 3 yr old specs like:
dual core cpu
8800gtx
2gig ram
still ou...
i could show you a 3 yr old pc that outperforms your xbox360.
pcs dont need yearly upgrades, its a myth.
however paying extra on every game bought ont he console is lot more expensive, plus online charges on the xbox 360 not to mention the expensive accessories. it all adds up in the end.
360 is by far the most expensive gaming platform out there like it or not.
ps3 isnt very poweful.. its old tech.. so is the 360. we cant call 4yr gpu even low end anymore.
and yea agreed a pc from 2006-2007 done right will run circles around the ps3 or 360.
