Witcher 1 with mods looks dam good. Models are so detailed id say it rivals FF13. Also FF13 has very small environments, no towns at all, Witcher 1 wins in that contest easy. The Draw distances in the first Witcher are much larger then FF13.
No reason why Witcher 2 shouldnt trample FF13 when Witcher one already does.
It boots you from the game if your internet connection goes bad even for a moment, any unsaved progress is lost.
Its supposed to stop pirates, however Pirates usually have a crack out within the first couple of a days a game launches hence the DRM only applies to Legit customers. It entirely fails to do what it was designed to do "stop pirates".

I recently got High res texture mods for Witcher(1.5gig in total), imo its a different game after the mods. Hence that makes a huge difference.

I built one that cost me a 1000usd when ps3 was 600usd. To date that rig i made puts the PS3 to shame on every multiplat and their isnt a PS3 exclusive either that looks better then what that rig can still do.

The only sensible thing for them to do would be to ditch this DRM. Pirates wont pay anyways. Causing problems for legit customers will only hurt sales.

256-512mb was pretty big 4years back, anything more would have only added more losses no one woud have liked to pay 700-800usd for a console. Sure RAM is cheap today even a 100usd GPU maybe found with 1gb of ram.
One of the reasons why consoles cant do 1080 in all their games is because of the RAM issues. The framebuffer is just too small. Also the Gpus are weak too handle Hi res textures and AA at such reso...

Well we need better looking better games to push the hardware. What will Nvidia and Ati do if there is no progresss in Software. Selling us more and more powerful hardware wont work without the software to give us a reason.

DD is the future of gaming IMO specially on the PC. The user base jut keeps increasing there is no such thing as a base reset as it happens with consoles every gen.
Steam saw a 200% growth last year now has over 25million users. By the time next consoles are out, who knows Steam alone might be having over 40million users.

Both of them should instead get the devs to make better looking games. No ones gonna need such powerful hardware otherwise, forget current hardware even the hardware like a 4870 or 280gtx is an overkill for todays games.
Imo push the developers for better games or there isnt any need for upgrades or new hardware.
