First you say making things in LBP is to hard, and then you say you want a game that lets you make anything from an FPS to a beat em up action game. Yeah, that makes perfect sense. Simple, don't buy the game then. You seem to lack the creative drive to make this fun for you (that's not an insult, you admitted you don't want to make levels). Making levels is half the fun, so if you have no interest in it whatsoever, you might as well skip this title.

All the enemies are constructed (at least in the Beta). You can get pretty crazy with it, though. I made a raptor on wheels who chases sackboy while swinging his arms around. He can run you over or gouge you with his claws. I even set it up so he'd run over a few trees.
You just have to get creative. The tools for good enemies are all there.
I mean, you could probably make a fire breathing dragon that chases you through an entire level if you wanted.

I don't think you understand what the feature that is being delayed in LBP is. It's just the co-op creation mode. You and a friend can make a level together online. You can already do this offline, but they are holding back the online mode.
It's not really a bad thing though. There are a ton of tutorials to get through before you can unlock every item, and people are going to need to get used to the tools. In my opinion this isn't really a problem at all. Let people get used to m...
Seriously. That's such a stupid thing to say too. Nobody should want Microsoft buying Sony's exclusives. People buy consoles for the exclusive games they offer. If Microsoft just buys all of Sony's games it would just mean they are incapable of making their own IPs. It would rip the console market to shreds. We should all want more good games instead of companies fighting over a few exclusives.

You should probably play the game before passing judgment. There are plenty of levels with enemies, challenges, and bosses. Challenges is really what the basic platforming levels are about. I've seen plenty of levels with enemies that chase the sackperson and try to kill him. As for bosses, I've seen that less, but I know it can be done. There was one level where you defeat a dragon by shooting him in the mouth with a cannon.

@ThePatriot: He clearly just put the sound in after the fact. There is no way you could re-create sound to that detail in the LBP Beta. The best you could do is something like the Piano Level.

There may be some sort of advanced audio creator in the full version, but even then recreating a full symphony orchestra is going to be a bit...well, impossible.

Actually, the changes were incredibly subtle and got blown out of proportion.
Basically they changed the name of a drug. "Morphine" was changed to "Med-X."

There may be other changes (they mention some animation changes), but it definitley isn't something that would warrant writing the game off entirely.
He also can't write evenly. He comes off as a fanboy, then tries to be fair, but just goes back to sounding like a fanboy again. The Metal Gear series has spanned a much larger time period, and many more platforms than Halo. I think people are just worried about to much Halo in too short a time period. I honestly don't think people would mind if there were 2 Halos for every console generation, but there is such a thing as to much of a good thing. Plus you really don't want Halo games rushed out the door just for sales. That would kill the franchise (which the xbox consoles rely heavily on).

@steveg2564 - I've had limited experience with "pointer controls" because they suck. Why would I play an FPS on the Wii if they aren't enjoyable on that console at all. Holding your arm up pointing at the sensor bar for hours isn't fun and it isn't exercise (despite what a lot of people seem to think), it's just fudging annoying.
The Wii is the perfect console for your friend to own. You can play the best Nintendo games while visiting their place. I see no reason to ow...
