Yeah. The next Metal Gear should drop the 'Solid' and start a whole new story. It can be in the same world and have some of the same characters overlap, but Snake and Raiden shouldn't be the protagonists.

While The Wire is a good TV show, I don't really see it becoming a video game. Nothing really exciting ever happens happens. The main police characters really don't ever really have direct contact with the drug dealers. Sure Omar shoots a lot of people, but I doubt he'd be the protagonist of a game based on the show.
How many times do you really think you could plant wires and trail vehicles before it got incredibly boring.

Cell shading means they can push the environments further. PoP had gorgeous scenery with awesome backgrounds thanks to the cell shaded graphics and look.

I honestly don't believe a movie can pull off those battles without being totally lame, or at least it won't give the experience that the game offers.

I don't think spawning automatically makes makes a game not tactical. It depends on the map design and how the spawning is implemented.
And to be honest, 256 players with no respawn would be totally retarded. Nobody is that patient.

I agree that 3ps is better for tactical gameplay. The fact that you can peak around corners makes it that way. You have to move from cover to cover, always being careful of your surroundings. It slows the game down quite a bit. I love MGO for that reason, although the cheating kind ruined that game for me.

There is no way they could replicate the battles without being lame, and there is really no human interaction in the game at all. How could this possibly be a good movie? That is actually very true. I had been messing with Linux on my PS3 (and PC to an extent), but I feel like I need Windows as a safety net. I also want my computer to be able to run MS Office/Adobe Suite. Linux may be able to do that already, I don't know, but Open Office was all I heard about back when I was tooling around with it. I never really got around to trying it.

I really hope they make a new Warhawk. Warhawk 1 is great, but I hate the ground combat. A third person cover system would make the game perfect. That way you actually have a chance at escaping from vehicles and you can move in cover rather than running out in the open all the time.
