Actually, from a couple sources, it is rumored that Disney will go neutral in the 4th quarter this year. But personally, I’ll believe it when I see it.

Don’t forget, the Warner Bros’ movie ‘300’ will be included with all 3rd gen Toshiba HD DVD players. But as much as I wish, I think they will stay neutral. I hope I’m wrong ;-)

Hey, I think both are great games, I bought them both on the first day they came out. I just prefer Gears a little bit more.

I kind of agree. It's a great game, but it's not "Gears of War" great.

A positive Blu-ray story from a Sony fanboy site. Big suprise.

Actually, the data is misleading. Blu-ray does not have a 63% marketshare in standalone units, but standalone sales. Because Blu-ray players cost much more than HD DVD players. In the amount of units sold, HD DVD still has a sizeable lead in units sold.

All of the reviews I’ve read give the audio very high marks. The disc uses Dolby Digital Plus, which is 3 times the bit size as normal DVD quality Dolby Digital, they act like it’s coming out in mono for crying out loud!

Just like Blu-ray discs, not all HD DVDs have or need lossless audio. It’s not that big a deal.

How dare HD DVD play by the same rules that the BDA does! It’s not fair!

When blu-ray.com starts making a fuss about how Disney, Fox, etc... don’t publish on HD DVD, then they have a right to complain about Paramount not publishing on Blu-ray.

Both will be around.. there are 10 game systems on the market, what’s the big deal if there are two movie formats?

This is the first time I’ve seen the Blu-ray logo on a Tombstone on N4G (the HD DVD logo has been there a few times already).

It’s still way too early to declare anyone the winner or loser. Although I do think that HD DVD is ready for a big surge and Blu-ray has many flaws in concept & manufacturing that could prevent it from gaining market beyond the PS3.

This guy needs to get his facts straight. Target didn't choose Blu-ray, Sony bought end-caps and then they sided with Blu-ray (players only, they are still selling HD DVD movies).

I've got a funny feeling the Paramount deal was just the first step for HD DVD. I guess we'll see what happens.

What does this remind me of?

You can always tell how deep the damage is by how much damage control is done. This one hurt Blu-ray... a lot!

Umm.. Sony split from the HD DVD group and is directly responsible for the format war. Don't blame the HD DVD group for playing by the same rules Sony is.

Just goes to show: making a 'AAA' title is hard!

Universal has been HD DVD’s biggest supporter, releasing over 100 titles on the format. Their corporate vice presidents have been open that they remain committed to the HD DVD format. Not to mention these guys had other facts wrong.

Bottom line: these guys don’t know what they’re talking about… forget it..

Sony seems to have no problem buying end-caps and becoming "Target Exclusive" why can't HD DVD play by the same rules?

The bottom line is that both formats are now pretty equal when it comes to studio support. Both will have about 400 movies out by the end of the year. So now the customer can decide what format they want and we'll see what happens.

Walk in to Wal-mart there are 10 video game devices, all use their own format (PC, PS2, PS3, Xbox, Xbox 360, GC, Wii, DS, GBA, PSP).

What's the big deal about 2 movie formats? Have HD DVD? Buy the red box. Have Blu-ray? Buy the blue ones. I think people can get it....

This announcement is nothing compared to 2 studios going HD DVD exclusive.
