I agree you cant beat a PC at being a PC - that's why we all have them. The fact that i can watch Youtube on my PS4 (which i never do) dosn't mean consoles have diluted in the slightest. You state opinion as fact.
Some of us work in IT support so cant be ar5ed sat in front of a PC during our free time too, i know PC has made strides into the living room but its not the same. I get just as much enjoyment from console gaming as i have from PC, in fact probably more as most of my mates play on PS4 too. Obviously this is just my opinion, just like what you have written above is just yours and therefor it carry's no weight with anybody bar yourself.
Hopefully Neo will look nothing like this dust silo.

Who said anything about what the consumers want? Sony have always released a slimmer variation of their current console that is cheaper to produce and therefor cheaper to buy, it has nothing to do with Neo.
Who told you AV equipment is sleek? I assume you don't own an AV Receiver. Imagine a black shoe box sized mini furnace with a digital display on the front - not sleek in the slightest but it must sound great...my neighbors are always commenting on it :)
Just buy a micro usb cable long enough to reach the ps4 from the couch - problem solved. My cost a whole £4!!!

Even if the Neo GPU does compare to a low end PC chip it wont matter, Devs are magicians with closed spec Hardware. They may also be bumping up specs as we speak - we havnt heard anything official from Sony yet.
So huge drops in frame rate is a "marketing scheme" eh...
Won't the Scorpio have some sort of Zen based APU? The time line fits, if so i expect far better CPU performance. That would be too late for Neo if Sony want to release this year but even so, improvements will be made - complete speculation btw...
The xb1s has the same output intentionally, its more of a slim model with 4k media capabilities than a higher spec version. MS have made this very clear so im not sure why you have the attitude. And btw, this comes from someone who has never owned an xbox of any variety - i just hate fanboy bs.
