You estimate 20% of the memory bandwidth will be used to display the HDR content? I'm no expert but i don't believe that for a second. Please provide your source for this statistic.

Of course there are going to be reasons to get an XBox1s over a PS4 Pro, the exact opposite is also true. It just depends on the gamer in question, personally i'm going with PS4 Pro but that doesn't mean i'm blind to the advantages other platforms hold to other people - that's fanboy territory.

No click from me as Forbes gaming articles are generally unprofessionally biased and i often find myself questioning the authors gaming experience.

Bad comparison, the highlight of any WCCF article is the comments section anyway.

I enjoy reading the desperate ramblings of the PC elitist simpletons who feel they have to advertise their specs at every given opportunity and have a general distaste for anybody who owns a console or has a slight difference of opinion to them - they even hate each other depending on what GPU they have - ha ha!

No, no...in all seriousness they are very lonely people.

"It's not difficult to build a PC with a RX 480 and a cheap AMD CPU for around $550, and although it's more expensive than a PS4 Pro, it would also be far more powerful.".

There you have it, question answered. Can you build a PS4 Pro Price/performance rig - no.

For £349, I doubt it.

Fuck off stealth troll - it isn't even out yet.

My Onkyo receiver isn't 4k compatible over HDMI either, fortunately PS4 Pro has optical and will work just fine for DTS etc.

@kev

Sony and Devs have spoken about PS4 Pro being able to increase visuals on standard HD TV's...but you already knew this.

That's what i'm after (low lag on HDR) but your TV is out of my price range, Im trying to find something under £1000. No much info on it really. Any ideas?

nah.

Can you run it in gaming mode with HDR enabled? input lag is pretty important to me.

I'm trying to decide what TV to go with for 4k HDR on PS4 Pro but there isnt much info on latency using this configuration which is kinda important to us gamers. There is one article on it from DF earlier this year, they advised on Panasonic in my budget but they seem more expensive than Sony, LG and Samsung for similar spec. If Sony can provide HDR on low lag i'd go with them.

Looks nice. Just make sure HDR can be enabled when in Gaming mode for low latency, it can also be referred to as PC mode depending on TV. My current LG is almost unplayable without it on but I understand it varies from model to model. I almost picked up a 4k HDR Samsung going pretty cheap in Richersounds until i learned HDR was only available in a higher latency setting - no good for gamers.

For me at least UHD BD support is no deal breaker, I don't own any...

Optical out was the most important unspecified feature (at time of meeting) as my AV receiver isn't 4K compliant over HDMI.

Don't get "major disappointment" confused with "muted audience". I saw plenty to be happy about, in fact i already have my PS4 Pro on pre-order. HDR compatibility on vanilla PS4 was my most unexpected/pleasant surprise.

I don't buy my movies on physical media any more so the lack of UHD Blu-ray support dosn't concern me in the slightest. The fact its releasing at only £350 is far more beneficial and probably one of the reasons they left the drive out in the first place.

That's cleared one thing up, in cinematic mode the screen is centered in front no matter which way you face. I was hoping this was the case for ultimate lazy horizontal viewing...mmm horizontal...

I think she pulls off the Feral red head look pretty well, myself :)

I cant see them removing the optical output as this is Sony's premium device, its not like the PS4 slim that's designed to be cheaper to produce and therefor purchase.

I'm guessing there are many people in a similar position to me where as my AV Receiver isn't compatible with 4K pass-through on HDMI so will have to connect Neo directly to their TV's HDMI 2.0 and optical to the Receiver.

The audio output is something Sony need to clarify, everyone I've seen using PSVR so far has been using a headset. Is it compatible with surround sound AV receiver setups? My Onkyo currently decodes the audio for my Station but I understand PSVR audio is controlled by the box. I cant find a definite answer on the Internets.

No Adblock - no read. Why would Sony's 4th slim iteration be "ridiculous" exactly? Forbes - journalism for dummy's.
