Everyone was so up in arms about the DRM for this game that most forgot to notice how limited and broken the actual game itself is. Such a huge disappointment.
If anything that will be all that keeps the Wii U having a 3rd party library. The hardware is just incapible of running a game designed ground up for Xb1/ps4 without a totally reworked and washed down version. Just like with the Wii I'm guessing most won't even bother. PS3/360 will be its lifeline.
Because Nintendo is incredibly stagnant and complacent. You guys keep buying the same old stuff so they see no need to invest in a large budget modern project. Why bother risking anything when they can churn out a dozen franchise milking spinoffs for the same cost? Nintendo will only wake up when Nintendo fans stop putting up with it.
Although I want one asap I think mid November makes more sense. Have tons of systems ready for launch along with the big multiplat games. Keeps the hype up for Christmas as well.
He managed to sink a battleship. It's just hilarious how he thinks he can now save the Titanic when its halfway underwater.
It wouldn't matter as much if the price was equal. But so far you're paying $100 more for a significantly weaker system.
Everyone cares about graphics. Even Nintendo fans lavish praise on how the new Nintendo 1st party games look. Though that's exactly how they should have looked 6 years ago if Nintendo released a modern console and not Gamecube 1.5 with a Wiimote.
And this generation there's a lot more to it than pure visual effects. 1080p great looking games will be no problem. What has been holding back developers most is the limited RAM and system bandwidth. Games will potentially...
The multiplat games will likely look and run better as well since they both use the same architecture. XB1/PS4/PC are essentially one development platform now. At a bare minimum the graphical effects settings can just be cranked up a bit to take advantage of PS4's extra power.
Of course they want profit. But how they're going about it is quite different. Sony is taking the consumer appeal approach with good deals and pricing. Microsoft is taking the route of trying lock you in to their system and milk you dry from there.
Funny thing is with Kinect 2 being standard on Xbox1, PS4 now gets best of both worlds. Plenty of developers will add minor Kinect functions and PS Eye support will end up along for the ride. But it will be optional for those who don't care and keep costs down.
Just sad. Reminds me of Microsoft giving people 20 MS points for their birthday. So little that it's just insulting.
Just sucks how Sony went for proprietary memory cards instead of standard micro SD. 32GB micro SD cost around $20. I've been trying to hold out for a price cut and 64GB version. Need so much space to download even a fraction of my PSN library.
That would be good to get a final PS3 version in the $150 range. Make it the best alternative for those who can't afford next gen. And give new PS4 fans a cheap way to get access to the PS3 exclusives they missed.
In other words they wanted to use a proprietary peripheral port to force people to buy new headsets.
Both systems are using low-power components like you find in laptops. And they cram those into even smaller and thinner compartments just fine. Microsoft's design is just plain bad.
That was my first assumption. But nope. Once again Xbox has a giant ugly external power brick. I was then worried PS4 was following suit when we saw how small it was in comparison. And nope, the PSU is actually internal. So for hardware design, PS4 wins by an absolute landslide.
I definitely agree with most of the author's points. Bioshock infinite did present a story well, but failed to give much depth to the world. The opener was the best part of the game imo. Establishing a unique world full of life. And then instantly everything empties out and you spend the rest of the game slogging through a somewhat plain shooter. Not a bad game by any means, but you can't help but feeling such a wasted potential.
Nintendo's business practices are most definitely killing them. I'd be happy to buy a big library of legitimately purchased NES/SNES/N64 games for cheap. Even after years there's barely any and Nintendo vastly overcharges for them.
I'm going to own them all eventually. But PC/PS4 will get almost all play time. Maybe a little Wii U on the side when Nintendo cuts the price to match the outdated hardware. XB1 will be for the 5 or so worthwhile exclusives and then dust collecting when MS closes their wallet on buying out exclusives.
I'll be happy to buy it when Microsoft pulls a Windows 180 and stops trying to shove unwanted crap down our throats.
