And yet no Oculus Rift? Yeah somebody at MS is writing checks.
PS+ earns it. XBL extorts it.
360/PS3 are far more dated than this guy realizes. I mean new cell phones are more powerful for christ's sake. We're long overdue for a hardware upgrade that can open up new levels of game design.
A big part of the stagnation is from the hardware limitations and extreme effort required to get more than a basic game running on thse dated consoles. I mean GTA5 is the pinnacle of what can be done with PS3/360 and that required insane amounts of effort far beyond what a ...
In all fairness I doubt that's input lag. Looks more like they're trying for more realistic body movement that isn't instantaneous. It would be a lot more relevant if he were using the right analogue stick.
I'd be a lot more likely to buy it if the PC version came during the initial launch hype. Now I'll probably just wait until it's like $15 a year down the line. Same as I did with all the other Assassin's Creed games.
Learned that Nintendo is a completely clueless dinosaur. License to print money with the DS and Wii yet failed to evolve so badly that the Wii U is a complete flop. They could have launched a true next-gen system and easily dominated this generation if they invested in hardware and expanded their game studios to cater to the modern market. Instead they cater exclusively to the exact same fanbase and tried for a Wii gimmick repeat that fell flat on its face.
Bumping the clock speed is definitely a good thing. Sony and MS should both play around with it even after launch.
Anyone remember PSP's big boost? Games got a lot better looking shortly after.
And you'd need your PS3 disc every time you would play it in a PS3.
"it is quickly dominating gaming market with games ranging from casual to HARDCORE."
No.
1080p 60fps could have been standard last gen if you didn't mind every game looking like ass. There can always be more effects added if you drop resolution and accept a lower framerate. Just about finding the right balance.
Looks on par. Very good considering the price gap and could easily get better for the 290x as drivers are updated.
And personally I'm looking for benchmarks that aren't run on a ridiculous triple monitor setup. If the 290x runs things better at a normal resolution on one screen then it's a clear winner in my book.
Really don't get this graphics card fanboyism. I just buy what's offering the best quality at the best price. It's been ...
PS3 yes. 360 not so much. I'm keeping both but really 360 just doesn't have many games I'll ever want to go back and play (that aren't PC games or also on PS3). PS3 has had and continues to get amazing exclusives that I'll definitely want to revisit at some point.
Flamebait review looking for hits. Don't click.
I'd say it's a good thing if it does. Game developers support legacy pc hardware/software far too long. It gets to the point where the machine would be too old to run the game anyways. Using new specs as a standard baseline has got to make things easier on them and look better for us.
Well they shouldn't have named it like a Wii accessory.
Even if you're not a big fan you should be glad that it's doing well. Most developers won't take 6 years to create an insanely massive game with far more detail and effort put in than would be necessary just to get big sales. GTA could have easily become an annual COD style franchise.
I'm sure the only way they could achieve such an amazing open world game is to utilize hard drive streaming speeds. Loading from the hard drive is about 10x faster than the disc drives in 360/PS3. Imo this gen would have seen a lot more impressive games if 360 hadn't thrown out HDD standardization.
Any internet connection is far too slow for running like a hard drive. Data transfer rates of hard drives are 100MB/s or more. The entire "unlimited cloud storage" thing is essentially just being able to redownload all the content you have access to. So exactly how things are right now but with a fresh coat of marketing BS for morons. Now cloud storage is great for game saves and storing the recorded gameplay footage but MS isn't doing anything special.
The thing looks like a bad photoshop for an april fool's joke.
But I can see the logic behind making it. A 3D screen is probably pretty costly. Just an early childhood model. But still you'd think it should be $99 with all things considered.
MS won't follow through with anything here. Had plenty of opportunity with 360. Really seems like they're pretty much out to sabotage PC gaming.
