Thanks for reading, guys - and 'yay!' for 9-9-09!
Thanks for watching everyone, so glad you liked the interview!
Sheesh, what's up with people lately thinking I'm short? There's a pic here with part of me in the foreground: http://catplaysgames.com/in... I'm 5'7" and Shane is maybe 5'10"? Camera guy went with focusing on Shane, he's a lil more important than me ;)
(I'm so gonna be in trouble if Shane is 6' and I grossly underestimated his height!)
Well obviously this is the sort of coverage people want from PAX! ;)
Haha, hope you liked this one Columbo.
Yep - In Seattle with umbrella in tow, though it cleared up nicely! Already had a good lunch, did some shopping, picked up the media badge, and checked into Hotel. Whew...dinner, anyone?
Are either of you going to the MAG party Friday night?
For any gamers out there with kids, my niece and nephew really did enjoy this one.
Awesome!
My schedule is jam-packed, but if there are specific panels you know you're going to hit let me know. Otherwise, follow me on twitter (twitter.com/cathlin ), should be easy to run into each other that way!
I am surprised there aren't more N4Gers in the Settle area/attending PAX - I should just stand at the entrance and hand out N4G t-shirts.
See, you're just bragging. :P Unless you got me tickets and have a julep on standby...
Hmm. Mace seems like overkill. Think this ties into what I was saying in my comment over here ( http://www.n4g.com/gaming/N... ) about guys getting the short end of the stereotype stick.
Will you be at PAX, too?
Edit: PAX is the Penny Arcade Expo - http://www.paxsite.com/
Fantastic - I'll be the chick with the N4G/ZTGD media badge, meet you by the soda machine. :P
hawt.
This ad shows mastery over the single entendre.
I mind a number of the things you mention, but I've never felt like it "sucks". More like it's "life on the interwebs". 9.9/10, people just behave...normally. I'd rather it wasn't a novelty, that there wasn't a tidy box to place me in, but moreover it's nice to have a hobby where I am - all testosterone induced awkwardness aside - welcomed.
I wonder what it's like to be a "guy gamer" and deal with those rotten stereotypes - lazy, geeky, socially us...
Have you played other line-drawing games (Flight Control, HArbor Master, Sea Captain...)? It is slower paced than Flight Control, less frustrating than Sea Captain, and I like the strategy of having so few vehicles and so many people to retrieve.
Factors for heat:
a. unique views
b. unique clicks
c. comments
d. time
I'm assuming you are familiar with a-c. The last one (time) is often overlooked- if you have 200 comments, clicks and views over a week, that story is not going to have nearly the same heat as one that has half as many comments, clicks and views in one day.
They're significantly increases Clank's role in this game, which initially made me unhappy. However, what I most disliked about the Clank episodes of prior games is how weak/helpless/limited he is, and they are changing that for this game giving him additional powers (expanding on the time-bending).
Hope you all enjoyed the interview! I'm working on a Torchlight preview.
@Tor: yeah, yeah - sure you would have, my inbox is still empty! ;)
