I think the confusion with your statement is due to the exclamation point at the end.
It reads more like "They won't have sold that money consoles, you idiots!" rather than "They shipped those numbers and in the next month of so they will have sold those numbers too because shops can't afford to have consoles boxes taking up room, when they are not selling"

Metacritic has it down as 2 10s, so far. Some 9s, mostly 8s and a 7 and a 6. Check it out for yourself.

@beans as pointed out the Crackdown 3 shown was a tech demo and we need to see the real thing in the wild.
Here a PS4 tech demo to go with Crackdown - https://youtu.be/bYDBP947ec...
Both demos tell us what is potentially possible if NO trade-offs were made. But the reality is game development on any platform is *always* about trade-offs in the real world, before a final game ships.
The question is h...
I agree with @NewMonday. Microsoft have lost 2 console generations, albeit very closely last gen, but this gen is another clear loss, in terms of pure units sold and number of gamers picking up an Xbox One. If they can't shift product, from a purely business stand point, there are not many compelling reasons to stay in that game.
Xbox Live is profitable for them and having it on everything from PC to mobiles and it being a service makes sense. Expect to see Xbox Live on...
They can't well admit there won't be another generation as their stock would plummet. also anyone who knows there won't be another Xbox will sell theirs now and jump away from a sinking ship.
Having lost 2 generations and now looking like they will lose a third, I'm not convinced Microsoft has the staying power for a 4th generation.
Not sure Microsoft should even bother in Germany either, if these numbers are anything to go by

Nearly 7:1 in favour of PS4 for one of the weeks in August, taking the overall total sales difference in Germany to 4:1 for the PS4. While last gen the difference was only about 2:1 for PS3.
Yes Germany is quite a small region, but it seems indicative...
@343 What a racist statement!
I think the US car industry would like to show you how biased you really are - https://en.m.wikipedia.org/...
When other international brands are clearly better made and more reliable.
Gamers tend to buy a console if that device has the type of games they want to play and it is the best experience on that console.
@Zidane dx12 will have next to zero effect on X1 as they already run a subset of dx12 on the console and already code close to the metal. Cloud may help, but Sony could do that too, of push comes to shove.
Microsoft need to ask themselves, if they actually care, why Sony, a Japanese company, can make a console that appeals to both a Japanese and non Japanese gamers (including Europe), while Microsoft makes a console that mostly appeals US and UK gamers and not many places else on this planet.
If they can answer that question, then their Xbox fortunes will turn around.
My personal opinion is that they still don't understand gamers and the appeal of games and...
They are working towards a George Lucas business model then...Sale of Halo and possible Xbox brand to Disney confirmed!!!
:p
I'll agree that Halo and potentially Gears would shift product, but Forza failed to move consoles in September, Otherwise the NPD numbers would show a different story. Let's see what happens in October.
Are you seriously suggesting that BC and Fable Legends will affect console sales? BC might spike sales slightly in US and UK, the old Xbox strongholds, but the rest of the world is fully invested in PlayStation. So it might help for a month or so in those regions, but then it ...

This statement "attributing the decline to lower sales of Xbox 360" is quite important!
Of course Xbox 360 sales are dropping, it is a last gen console, so supposedly the Xbox 360 gamerbase is switching to this gen, hopefully in droves, because *everything* is better. That is definitely happening with PS3 gamers, switching to PS4.
So the question should be why with the expected decline in 360 sales, is there no corresponding increase in sales on the Xbox One...

So the question should be why with the expected decline in 360 sales, is there no corresponding increase in sales on the Xbox One side to counter/offset that decline??

Worth pointing out that the PS4 is currently outselling the *combined* sales of PS3 and Xbox 360, over the same period last gen.
Also worth mentioning that the worldwide Xbox 360 gap last generation was about 4-5million, at most, and Sony only *just* caught up and passed Xbox 360 consoles sales. While this gen, the PS4 gap is already at 12million worldwide and actually increasing!
So, world wide PS4 is fast approaching 2:1. I suspect Sony will mention something more ...
@Unspoken The Sony price drop is to ensure PS4 continues to dominate in sales in the US and worldwide. Sony want to continue the sales momentum they already have. As the PS4 division is profitable they can afford a price drop and still make money.
So the question you ask can also be asked about the Xbox's price drop months ago? If Microsoft had confidence in their product and the quality they were offering they wouldn't have dropped Kinect and also done a price drop ...
So Forza wasn't a big exclusive for the slready?
I must be living in another dimension.
If this is truely their best line-up, then as an Xbox One owner I'd be worried.
1. Because of the lack of variety in their game catalogue.
2. Why aren't X1 fans buying AAA titles like Forza? They should have owned Sept sales with Forza, because PS4 didn't have anything amazing to sell.
If X1 fans don't even buy the so called best from the company, why would Microsoft invest in future first party titles?
What will happen to X1 sales ...
What should be concerning is a lack of an Xbox One AAA title in the Top 10. Where are all the fans to buy Forza 6?
We all know that PS4 had no AAAs to release, so Xbox should have cleaned up in the AAA stakes.
So Microsoft should be asking themselves why their fanbase aren't buying enough product?
Obviously Forza is not a franchise that sells consoles. Come December we'll see if Halo can change X1's sales position.
If it doesn't the X1 fans ne...
Using that same metric, gamers are gravitating to the PS4 more than Xbox One because on average games on the PS4 have a higher average score than games on X1.
