Shouldnt be too long before the price drops. Its not a bad game but most gamers expected more for the price and the hype around it.
My game ran great on my GTX580 so texture loading wasnt an issue for me. I just found it very linear, repetitive with very little exploring.
I dont understand why the PC version was the same price as consoles. Usually games are at least $10 cheaper at launch. I was expecting more for the price i payed. Especially with all the hype with this game.
Yes it is a start. Look at the recent games that are being launched with cross platform play like the new counter strike. PS3 even has an official mouse + keyboard. Look at articles of Microsofts universal gaming portal. Gaming across all platforms is about to change for the better my friend.
Online passes will not be around forever. Once games move to digital download only and are tied to a specific profile there wont be online passes.
Developers dont want you to trade in or rent their game. This is their way of making doing so inconvenient. You can still pirate with digital download only games but that isnt as widespread as the used game market.
I prefer controllers on consoles and my PC. I wont buy a PC game unless it has a controller support. I even use it for PC 1st person shooters and love it.
This is the first actual video ive seen on this game but it looks great so far. The ammo indicater on the gun has to go though. Its distracting.
Battlefield 3 looked great on PC. I cant wait to see the final build.
It looks as if microsoft is moving more towards an Xbox "service" rather then a new console. Window 8 will have xbox live built in and the "universal gaming portal" coming in 2012 points to this.
Maybe console manufacturers see this idea as a better option for making a profit. Launching new hardware while taking a loss on each console sold for the first few years might not be the best option this time around.
If i can play xbox games o...
Imagine a world with games that didnt register K/D in objective gametypes. People would actually play the gametype the way its meant to be played instead of concentrating on kills.
Also W/L isnt a good representation of skill either. Its more of a "team" skill not an individual one. Those with high W/L usually playing with friends on their team using their headset communicating with each other. This is certainly a smart thing to do but there are many others who ma...
I miss the days of Rainbow six character customization. It was almost limitless, especially clothing color. You even could scan your face and put it on your character. Also how fast you moved depended on how much gear you wore. It added a bit of realism.
No big shooters of today come close to that level of customizing. Maybe Battlefield 3 still has some surprises up its sleeve.
from article....
"To Microsoft, maybe next-gen means simply upgrading the current Xbox 360 by incorporating more social media elements into it".
For those that have grown accustomed to consistent new console launches over the years, the above statement may seem hard to believe. Despite what many of us want to hear, i dont feel a new console will be revealed at E3 2012.
I think E3 2012 will be about microsoft's windows 8 with xbox li...
I agree with your opinion that the map feels too big. Dont get me wrong i think the map is beautiful on PC but there dont seem to be much action. Seems to be more fun in the sky with all the aircraft crashing to the ground.
Just a quick look at everyone's low scores on the scoreboard and you can see that there isnt as much action going on as the smaller metro map.
Poor comparison. A car is undriveable without wheels. Is a game unplayable without DLC? No. You can enjoy a game as it is with the option to purchase DLC later. Just like you can enjoy your car the way it is with the option to add chrome wheels later.
The truth is not many people hate COD when compared to how many who love it. Just a very small percentage of people that like to waste their energy bashing it on forums, thats about it.
This wont happen. Onlive will possibly be out of business when microsoft launches their "Universal gaming portal". If microsoft gets this "buy a game and play it anywhere" right then it will be great for gaming in general. Not so great for competition.
I love battlefield games and will buy all of them on launch day. Call of duty has many years left to be on top. Dispite what some people think , activision shouldnt be worried over battlefield.
They are 2 different games. COD is a fast paced shooter which is a style most people love. While battlefield feels like a real war with vehicles and large maps, it will always appeal to a smaller crowd. Battlefield 3 will be more successful then any other battlefield game but it wont...
Dont worry about it. If valve can get the gamepad controls right like Dice did with the PC version of the battlefield 3 beta you will do fine. Im a PC gamer who has their R.A.T. 7 gaming mouse and G13 gameboard collecting dust because i rather use my gamepad.
A knife to a gunfight? Sorry dont think so. I play with a gamepad for all supported multiplayer pc shooters. By your statement i must be imagining being consistently on top of the scoreboard.
I hope valve gets the gamepad controls on PC and console right. Dice did a great job with PC battlefield 3 beta.
My average K/D is usually 1.5 to 3.0 for most games but i actually would like all games to remove the stat from public viewing. There shouldnt be a K/D ratio for objective gametypes. Until it gets removed most will not play games the way they are meant to be played.
Years ago game manuals were thick. Now there are only a few pages in most of them. Its like they are gone already.
