hahaha. I actually agree.
I finally bought it this year for 20 bucks after hearing how great it was from a lot of friends and people online, and with some hype brewing for a sequel.
Man, that game's a stinker (in my opinion).
Why are you accusing me of not be a good player? I also don't recall saying anything about the game was too hard. I merely stated that it was very easy except for some menial and unrequired tasks that are more of a challenge. I personally beat the game 100% with very little difficulty in a very short period of time.
Is this the same as the Game Gear game? I thought the Master System Sonics were just ports of the Game Gear ones? If so, then this IS a great game! If not, then I've never played it. Technically, I've never played it either way, but I played Sonic the Hedgehog 2 for Game Gear, and it was one of the best Sonics and one of the best Game Gear games, and if this is a port of it, I'd agree with IGN's praise.
Really? I just call it like I see it.
If you disagree, why don't you write your own review. You're more than welcome.
I have no intentions of reviewing Too Human or Haze right now, but I did play both games, and I already know that I'd give Haze a 2/3.
It wasn't nearly as bad as people said: graphically it was not good, and it had some awful characters and acting, but it also had some good characters and acting, some cool set pieces, an overall well told story, totally seamless gameplay with no pauses or load times from start to ending, tight shooting mechanics and some fun level designs, not ...
Yahoo have been either lying about, making mistakes about, or crapping on the PS3 quite a lot lately. What's up with them?
The PS3 launched over 2 years ago. Shouldn't this article be about the most over-hyped things NOW. The PS3 is certainly not over-hyped these days. I'd say it's under-hyped.
Booo!
I loved the Dungeon Keeper games! So awesome. I'd actually consider paying for this if they brought it stateside.
Fair enough, Thor.
But I feel that the numerical representation of the score is accurate enough. If a 2/3 equates to a 6.7, and a 5 out of 10 from most reviewers means "average," then I'd say my 6.7 is in line with my true feelings of the game. I think it is above average, but it isn't perfect, and it's something that (from my estimation) will be compelling to a minority of gamers for an extended length of time.
The average person, gamers included...
It's not garbage/decent/perfect it's "forget it/play it/own it"
The difference is that "play it" can range from decent to excellent, and "own it" does not mean perfection. It's simply a moniker of recommendation for your average gamer.
The things I mention in the review are the very reasons why I felt this game was worth playing but not necessarily enough of a value to warrant spending 60 dollars on it. Do I think it's worthy of a ...
Indeed. I wrote the Ratchet review before I'd established this review system I've employed in my latest reviews. If I were to review Quest for Booty again, I'd give it the same score: 2 out of 3.
As I've mentioned, I just can't any longer get behind a scoring system any more complex than what I've presented here. The numbers start to get too arbitrary. What is a perfect score when you've got up to 100 different scores you can hand out (What's the real distinction between a ...
I'd give the same rating to any shooter that was this short or shorter (if it can be mostly appreciated within the time space of a rental period for your average gamer, then I'll give it this score) if I also felt that it had problems with replay value and a borderline-quality online component. See my Gears of War 2 review.
Please try to see how this score IS a recommendation of the game.
I will simply reply to your claims of the game's longevity (I've given a more in depth follow-up of my review process further down in the comments):
I was able to go through and ace all of the levels in just a couple of days after I bought the game. It really wasn't a lengthy experience at all. And about the user-created content, I've gone through and played some levels that I enjoyed, but I feel that most of my enjoyment came from understanding and appreciating the creation ...
Rating system is not an average.
I discourage folks from looking at the score as some kind of all-encompassing indicator of a game's quality.
It's subjective, though I've tried to reflect what I think most gamers would think. Most gamers really only want to know if they should play a game or not. A "pass/fail" scenario seems too harsh to me, so I've chosen a three-tiered system. Don't play it, play it, or buy it. I feel that most gamers will get the...
Rememberthe357:
Which one's AREN'T coming to PS3?
I counted 3. Halo Wars and Halo ODST and Race PRO
That makes it 7 out of 10 that are.
70% are multiplatform.
Just sayin'.
Mirror's Edge shouldn't be on there, and Gears 2 should. The order's all botched. GTA IV at number 1? Puh-lease, that is the most over-rated game of all time.
Foxgod, your facts aren't straight and don't support your point. Gears of War 2 was not announced at E3 in July, it was announced at Game Developer's Conference in February.
If I've said it once I've said it a thousand times: Last one out on the global market at the highest price. It's doing very well. If it were doing any better it'd be beyond the realm of sanity and all the competition would just be total fail, and who wants that? Competition drives innovation.
I'm not sure if that's true, Overdrive.
I thought I'd read somewhere that a few of the PSN games run in 1080p? According to Wikipedia (thought it doesn't provide a source so I can't say with 100% certainty that this is true) WipeOut HD renders at a native 1080p resolution.
It is a cool watch.
All the Haze bashing that goes on (here, now, elsewhere, before, etc, blahblahblah) really seems off to me. Most people who bash it probably read some reviews and then relegated themselves to the forums where they would henceforth talk trash about the game for all eternity, but never play the game to find out first hand. The game was good, it's as simple as that.
It wasn't perfect, it didn't have great graphics, and it had some annoyances, true, but the core gameplay was tigh...
