I bought Valkyria Chronicles and Resistance 2 in November (just counting PS3 releases)
The PS3 has never caught up to the 360. That's the point. PS3 fans are the underdog this generation, whether you want to realize that or not. I don't personally want to see the 360 get destroyed, I just want to see the PS3 catch up so we have a very even playing field, which would be best for gamers of all kinds. Yeah, I agree, I get really sick of this, too. Especially Greenberg in particular. This guy just won't quit running his mouth. In my opinion, Metal Gear Solid 4 should have won.
But I also think Fable 2 is one of the best games of the year, and I can understand why they chose it.
What I can NOT understand, however, is how they didn't even give Fable 2 the best RPG award, and they gave Metal Gear Solid 4 more individual awards than any other game, and yet somehow Fable 2 wins Game of the Year? Makes really no sense.
They did add some new features, like the ones you mention, some new multiplayer modes, and some new weapons. These things were welcome additions. However, the actual experience, the real visceral experience of playing the game felt too familiar at times. Not just with its own predecessor, but with other games that it was clearly inspired by. What a foolish sentiment. Why do you cheer at the prospect of a multinational electronics and entertainment corporation falling apart? This is bad news for the industry, not good news. This is bad news for thousands of people who will lose their jobs, for even more people who will lose money on their investments in this company. The entire notion of a one-console world will stifle innovation through a lacking of competition and incentive to push boundaries.
I wasn't complaining about anything. I was stating the facts about the game, its length, its level of challenge. These are important pieces of information for someone who is reading a review for the right reason: the find out whether the game is worth their time and/or money.
THIS was a good, nice, constructive list. I approve 1 million percent.
I am far more interested in seeing an "under-rated" list. Show us what games the average critic didn't get a stiffy over that you actually have some praise for. That's real constructivism. This is just tearing down the achievements of talented, hardworking people. Why the negative themed list when a positive themed one could be put together.

This game, from the looks of these tiny low-quality photos of a magazine, has the potential to be the best looking console game ever. It seems to me that it looks better than Killzone 2, and much more colorful and pretty surroundings to boot. I'm excited to this video on at the VGA's on Sunday!!!
