I agree that the Wii, overall, is lacking on content that I, as a lifelong hardcore gamer, really want to play. I've been very disappointed with some of the more raved about games (I love adventure games & puzzle games, and I freaking hated Zack & Wiki; I thought that Smash Bros. Brawl was boring and I've been sick of the series since around my 200th hour with Melee; Same with Mario Kart... I want to see some innovation in those series', but they didn't give us any with the Wii itera...
Resistance 2, Halo 3, and the first Gears of War are the only games this generation that I've beaten more than once. Gears of War and Resistance 2 are the only games I've beaten three times this generation. And Resistance 2 is the only game I've beaten four times this generation.
I think it has one of the most fun single-player campaigns I've ever played in an FPS. I'm glad it doesn't have any stupid vehicle levels. I'm glad it's got a measured pace with specific strategies t...
I still want a patch for the controls and some of the clipping issues. It kinda sucks when the NPC's walk right through each other. Kills the immersion for me. Oh well, that's not as big a deal as the controls. I love playing this game, but the context sensitive places are really, really unresponsive. Needs fixing so I don't have to stand just so in exactly the right place to get the context sensitive option to work. Also, I'd be in full support of a patch that added new NPC voice-overs...
Where's the proof that they outsold the PS3 by 3 million? Because they didn't outsell the PS3 in North America by half that, nor did they outsell the PS3 in Europe by half that, and they were outsold by the PS3 in Japan, Asia, and other regions. So how does it all add up to 3 million more? I' give you a hint: you're reading Greenberg's quote incorrectly:
"While we had a pretty large lead - around 5 million plus in the US over PS3 - we were very neck and neck with Sony he...
@ Floppyfeet. Don't get too excited about that agree you've got there. It's from me, and I meant to hit disagree. Because, you see, you're wrong. Sony's success does not and never has relied upon a single game. That was true when MGS4 came out, when LittleBigPlanet & Resistance 2 came out, and it will be true with Killzone 2 as well. Remember, they've got a huge line-up of big-name games through 2009 and 2010. By the time you see a God of War and Gran Turismo on the shelves, the PS3...
Barely outsold. And they sell more games because they have a bigger install base since they've been on the market more than a year longer; they sold barely more consoles, and only because their base model is half the price. And it didn't accomplish any of that on the merits of Gears 2 alone.
Edit @ Below: If you don't see how having (what is it now?) 8 million more consoles out there leads to selling more games, then I don't know how to help you understand.

How does one game defeat an entire line-up. The entire line-up of games on the PS3 this year sold much better than Gears 2 alone, so that can't be how. It also had games that scored higher than Gears 2, so it can't be by metacritic either. In what way did Gears 2 defeat the entire PS3 line-up?
@ Bassturd:
The PS3 does have its own video store where you can download movies & TV shows.
I agree with all that you wrote except NXE being the best thing that happened to the 360. I think Fable 2 coming out was the best thing (my opinion), and that NXE was terrible except for the ability to install games and Netflix. Those two features are great, but avatars are lame, the new party formation system is annoying (that's my opinion) and makes it even easier to cheat online in games like Gears of War 2 (by communicating with your living teammates after you've died, when you're not s...
@ The Nickel:
Agreed. But remember, Microsoft aren't the only ones who will be making new announcements for new titles this year.
@ The Nickel:
Fair enough opinions and all, but so far Sony has more software coming out that's been announced. Both companies have unannounced games in the works, too, so who knows which company will announce more new software as the year goes on. Could be either one, but I'd probably put my money on Sony because they've got the most studios and we haven't seen any announcement from a good number of them yet, and others, like Insomniac are growing and opening new offices so ...
at The Nickel:
You think that a Halo expansion & a Halo side project, Star Ocean 4, Ninja Blade, and perhaps Alan Wake and Forza 3 + as yet unannounced exclusives will beat Killzone 2, Infamous, Heavy Rain, Ratchet & Clank F2, Uncharted 2, White Knight Chronicles, and perhaps God of War 3 and Gran Turismo 5 + as yet unannounced exclusives?
They put Onechanbara for 360 in the honorable mentions? Pathetic. That game is pure crap. It's from 2006 for god's sake, I don't even know why they're localizing it now, over 2 years since its original release. The game looks like a PS2 game. Seriously. It's boring, poorly designed, repetitive hack n slash schlock with PS2 quality graphics, being localized over 2 years too late. Doesn't belong on any honorable mention list, in fact, not only should it have been included on a list of Ga...
Surprised that we've got a disagree bandit in a nice innocent little article like this one.
Seriously. Retribution looks awesome. The graphics are amazing for a PSP game, and the fact that I own Resistance 2 makes it all the better. Play on my big-screen with a DualShock 3, and additional content for connecting my PSP to Resistance 2? Hell yeah, I'll take those features!
Can't wait for this one.
CUBOID is an awesome game. I bought it last night and expected to just try it out for a minute, and ended up playing for a couple hours before going to sleep. Later on today, I had to play it for a couple more hours. There are only 66 levels in total, but some of them are very challenging mindbenders. If you want to get a Lightning and Gold rank on each level, you'll be playing this game for ages, wracking your brain and trying new things, but it's all highly possible and never discouragi...
As another article here on N4G states, this game has the best second week of any PS3 game yet.
Seriously. There was already an article today about how White Knight Chronicles sold disappointingly during its second week. Hahaha. Now we learn the fact: best second-week for a PS3 title ever. How is it disappointing, then?
Nope, just once each for all of those. I did start a new game in MGS4 three different times, though, and I've played through the first and second acts three total times. For some reason, I always restart after the second act. Not that acts 3, 4, and 5 aren't amazing, it's just... one of my idiosyncracies I guess. I'll play through the entire game again sometime, though.
