Agent VX, there you go again, every comment containing something specifically targeted to be negative about the PS3.

What multiple price cuts? Sony has only had one price cut, and it was in 2007.

This writer is an idiot.

I made it until he wrote this nugget about the PSN:
"Why is it so terrible? That’s a simple question to answer; I believe the saying is “You get what you pay for”. With the free servers that are average at best, you are bound to have some sort of problems unless you’re running on a T1 connection."

OK, if you're complaining about the SERVERS, then having a T1 connection wouldn't help you either. Any fool knows that. You can't...

"Honestly, my Ps3 feels a bit too much like my ps2.
I play it but online is no exsistant. The best games on the system don't have excellent online options."

Ridiculous. Have you even attempted to play Warhawk or Resistance 2? Play Call of Duty 4 online on your 360 then on your PS3. What you'll notice is that the experience is identical. Only you can do it without paying a premium on PS3. PS3 feels too much like PS2, that's the funniest thing I've read all wee...

You people who disagree, why don't you come out of the woodworks and tell me what you disagree with. How am I wrong? I presented the facts, if you are unimpressed by them, explain your reasoning.

I feed on these disagrees. It's amazing how reasonable and accurate a comment you can make on this site and still have people disagreeing. Most of my comment was fact, as in *inarguable* and yet I walk away with 3 disagrees and 0 agrees (so far)?

Here's the real deal, as far as European sales of the two consoles goes:

8 million 360's @ a lower price in 38 months = 210,000 per month
versus
7 million PS3's @ a higher price in 22 months = 318,000 per month...

Article says 8 million in Europe, Middle East, and Africa combined. Not just Europe. It says that's 1 million more than PS3. Well, the 7 million they're saying the PS3 sold, does that also include Middle East & Africa in their "Europe" figures the way Microsoft does? I don't believe it does. Also, everybody should remember that the PS3 has been on the market since March 2007 in Europe, whereas the 360 has been on the market since November 2005. That's a pretty significant ...

I'd be wary to say never.

I doubt they'll ever fall, because they're such a big company, but if you look at the industry track record, all but Sony, Nintendo, and Microsoft have stopped. Coleco, Philips, Panasonic, Atari, Sega, Magnavox, and countless others. You never know what could happen.

gw4k:

You complain about a flaw in MY logic (that's right, the private message he quoted as receiving here was from me)? You're the one who just "gave the edge" to the PS3 in a few of those regards, so how is it MY logic that's wrong when I refute your statements that "the 360 is better than the PS3 in every regard." The keyword in your argument is "EVERY" ... it's simply not better in every regard. Period.

@ g4wk (1.8):

You said,
"Owning a 360 means you get better games.
More games.
Exclusives.
Better Graphics.
Better network with better options, features and performance.
INCREDIBLE WARRANTY! haha Trust me, I know!"

Let me make some things abundantly clear here. The 360 having better games is an opinion, not a fact, so just leave that at the door. Both systems have a huge amount of awesome games, and it comes down to tast...

Fable 2 is definitely my 360 game of the year. I like it a lot. Couldn't say I love it, because it's got some pretty horrendous load times, some downright strange design issues, and quite frankly pretty bad character movement controls and dog A.I. Those flaws keep it from being as perfect as some reviews said (X-Play and Eurogamer for example), but I did and still do enjoy playing the game very much.

It's a good list. If you're listing things that will be very successful, he's got it right. I do think people are underestimating the success that Killzone 2 will have. It's going to sell hugely, so it could've been on this list and nobody would deny that it deserved to be there.

For my money, though, the game I most want to play in 2009 is Uncharted 2.

Tplarkin7, you say:

"Controller: same except for Sixaxis slapped on after Wiimote.
Hard drive: added after Xbox
Dashboard: added after Xbox 360
Online: added after Dreamcast
Home: added long after Xbox Live"

Well, let me see... who cares, first of all, if companies see things going on in their industry and respond by utilizing new ideas and technology themselves to stay in the game. Look here, if you think that Sony "stole"...

Metacritic should just stop allowing user scores all-together. They're obviously meaningless.

I wish GameStop never stopped accepting all the old games. I used to be able to stock up on NES, SNES, PSone, Dreamcast, and everything there, then they called it quits. It's unfortunate, now I gotta go to the internet when I think of a classic I'd like to get.

I'm just saying, how do you give us Left 4 Dead at #3 and Gears of War 2 at #2 for the 360 specific choices, then put Left 4 Dead above Gears of War 2 on the overall list? Does not compute. Among many other stupid things about their lists.

PS3 has Eye of Judgment. 'Nuff Said.

You may not like card-battle games, but Eye of Judgment is purely brilliant and unique, utilizing a camera for gameplay in a revolutionary and totally awesome fashion, allowing age-old Magic card fans like myself a way to play without having a real-life partner sitting next to me. Introducing a camera into the mix so that you can play online against any opponent the world over, any time, is just awesome. Sony has always been a maker of uni...

How in the hell does Metal Gear Solid 4 not wind up in the top 20 OR in the honorable mentions list, especially considering that they put Fallout 3 as the game of the year, but in the PS3 specific section they put MGS4 above Fallout 3 in their list of the 5 best PS3 games. They also failed to put Valkyria Chronicles or Resistance 2 on the best of or honorable mentions lists. R2 was also higher than Fallout 3 on the PS3 list, and so was LittleBigPlanet (#1 on the PS3 list).
Gears 2 wa...

First of all, "future-proof" is a much older term than just from this console generation, so the notion that Sony invented the term to market the PS3 is ridiculous.

Second, Blu-Ray is NOT failing, it is actually succeeding more and faster than DVD at this time in the technology's life (and that's with Blu-Ray launching against a competing format that it first had to knock out of the way, where DVD launched all on its lonesome with no new competing technology).

"t that price, it will never be an accesable option for an average income family. is it twice the machine the 360 is? no. then why twice the money?"

Actually, the $400 PS3 (which costs twice as much as the $200 version of the Xbox 360) is AT LEAST twice the machine. Let me show you what you're getting for that $400 dollars when you buy a PS3 that you DON'T get with the 360:

1. Blu-Ray player
2. Wi-Fi capability for wireless internet
3. Lifetime...

The writer of this article is an ignoramus. He complains that Blu-Ray succeeded. He was all "pepped up" to buy an HD-DVD player, and then the format failed, so now he craps on Blu-Ray and says it isn't worth it. Well, if HD-DVD was worth it to you before, why isn't Blu-Ray? It's cheaper to get Blu-Ray now than it was to HD-DVD or Blu-Ray back when the other format was still being made. But somehow it seemed like a worthwhile purchase back then, and now it doesn't, even though B...
