so don't talk down to me. I was looking for clarification, because simply put, how can an xbox fanboy or 360-only owner (not saying you're one, just in general) claim a PS3 is too much money for what you get and that it's no bargain for anyone, how would they know? Sure they can cite what they know of it, and explain why they didn't choose one, but everyone has their own needs and situation. Wouldn't you leave it up to owners or users to declare a product to be noteworthy or of value? I perso...
Why are you changing your story C64, you just said above that people should have buyers remorse for the PS3 just because Ghostbusters sucked on PS3, and they should have went with a 360, and now it's a better value according to fans? I bought a PS3 because it was the better value for my needs at the time I shopped around last year (and still is IMO), as well as being more reliable, but I still want a 360 because there's a few must have's that I can't do without too. I'm just confused because ...
American thing. I love my PS3.
and business sense says that when a company comes out with a product at first that loses them money, they wait until it's profitable, not scrap the idea and start fresh...you think any PS4 would start off right away with any profit? Sony planned on going in the red on each PS3 and over time recouping those losses via updates on the hardware, cheaper tech over time, and software. Calling it quits now is a change in any sound business model, but what do fanboys know about sound thinking....
I don't see anything in there being offered that I don't have here on mine as of now...maybe I'm not getting this right? I have Home, online gaming, and get some exclusive offers (maybe even more are coming?)....I just hope it's referring to an improvement across all regions over time...but it's kind of vague seeing as how it's for Asian PS3 owners, so who knows how this affects other regions.
is higher priced for pre-order because Activision are a bunch of greedy A-holes and probably precluded the game for going less than MSRP even on Amazon or for a special. The PC version is $10 more in the US, what's that tell you...Bad example. Almost all games besides MW2 are less than $59.99 on Amazon to pre-order, go do some searching before making naive claims.
blah blah blah, A game's only as good as it's sales, isn't that what the fantools say? Yadda yadda Metacritic this, sales that, forget the fact that "fun" never enters the conversation, that would be illogical.
/sarcasm
I'm clamoring for both games, not because one will sell a lot, or one will rate high. You'd think fanboys would love math with all the obsession about numbers, but then you remember how dumb they are.
but does anyone else remember Crystalis? It was an amazing action/RPG, and though it was slightly linear, it's a contender for my favorite memory, that was my introduction to deeper gaming. Prior to that it was platformers, side scrolling shooters and 2D beat-em ups, but Crystalis opened me up to these virtual worlds with more to them, and character/plot development, inventories, puzzle solving. I guess I should state I hadn't gotten to Zelda just yet, as I wasn't very exposed to games at the...
loves co-op gaming, we went through Army of Two together, then Resistance 1 together, we've been doing LBP off and on together...she likes me on her side because she's not as skilled, even with handicapped settings in something like Perfect Dark it's frustrating for her. She'll go through a Tomb Raider herself though and really likes gaming compared to most 20 something women...We have worked out together, gamed together, movies, etc...so it's a nice commonality to have when video games are o...
for the price hike then, though some places will sell it for the same, it did go up on the PC version....Activision's comments on the PS3 have me loathing them as a company, and that's not likely to wear off any time soon. $60 for a PC game just for profit, comments about killing Sony support, a plastic add-on for Tony Hawk games which will now jack up the price...they're everything this industry shouldn't be. I've never heard a leader of a corporation talk so arrogantly and irrationally sinc...
are more original than regular ones. Besides, the C & C universe is fairly unique IMO, but I like Red Alert better as a series.
and not seen in first person, I really thought it was awesome how much you got to see of Max Payne's suffering and watch the progression of his vengeance unfold via his dialogue and thoughts and all those metaphors, it was very well done. If more FPS shooters could capture that, there wouldn't be a problem at all.
I added up the stuff I had to have due to my situation like wifi and online gaming and a game to start with, and PS3 was cheaper (I got a 80 GB MGS 4 BC PS3 last August), so I'm in a different boat. If people could do a hard line access, and do without online gaming altogether, then 360 would still be cheaper even without factoring in that the Elites didn't come with any games I wanted at the time. But I'm happy with my purchase, and I saved money.
Anyone care to guess...??
stuff in movies like LOTR and Transformers: It's one artist most likely doing this work, not a team of pro's who have worked their way up the "food chain"....these are people trying to work their way up a lot of times, so for one person to pump out a scene like that is impressive. When you're a studio with millions to budget for visuals, of course it'll be a nice end-product: these renders didn't come from a highly budgeted piece of entertainment from ILM or Pixar, and I'm familiar ...
anything else is on your dollar to have repaired, so it's not really qualifying for a blanket statement of "it's free to get it fixed"...but the rest I agree with Kushan. But then again, what happened to a lifelong purchase. A family member passed late last year and we found her Atari 2600 in fine working condition...it's like MS is leasing 360's for 3 years if you want to be cynical about it....
from Oak Forest IL, and I can say that I chose my PS3 for several reasons, including reliability, I'm an informed consumer on all fronts, and I also can't stand the lawsuit fever that goes on at times, so.... we're not all like that.
This guy may be trying to make a quick buck, the console costs a couple hundred, but he's probably hoping MS will hush him by settling out of court for much more than the cost of the console. I don't know if that'll really happen, but it's quite lame...
in media arts and animation (if no one has seen me mention that)...and I can tell you it's exciting and amazing to create that stuff but can be daunting and time consuming perfecting such images. My demo reel had camera fly by's and I remember spending 100 plus hours just on that fly by in the end.
You are spending a lot of time playing with the lighting or mapping to get it just right, then you finally have a scene, and that's what a frame render is. Think about putting that sce...
They always rave to the parents in the store about why the 360 is "superior" to the PS3...And the worst part is it's usually untrue bullcrap (they said the PSN goes in and out of connection all the time the last time I was there overhearing them, and that's why MS charges for the online...WTF?)....It's fine to have a preference, but use facts for your opinion, don't present your opinion as facts.
the same as saying "8 core", yes they can run separate threads/code, but it isn't classed as "8 core" when compared to something like an i7 or dual-core...it's not the same from my understanding, but beyond what I know, maybe someone more knowledgeable can get into the details of why it's not the same. All I can recall when I read up on the PS3 is that engineers said not to think of it as 8 core...
