I don't think a review, which is essentially a critique in the same way a movie review is a critique, has the same standards, as say, investigative journalism.
But your right. In the case of the big name websites/companies that 'review' games its opinions for hire. The word of IGN, Gamespot, GT and other big sites means less and less to me now after buying a series of games that were reviewed highly by these sites but turned out to be lacklustre at best- or blatant lies about the...
I was always a bit sceptical of these 'bias' claims but I mean come on.... this is really starting to show a pattern.
One thing though, If the gaming media is 'biased' agains the PS3, why the hell is it? I mean, I can't fathom the idea that so many people in an industry target a single product and go after it like that. It's just so... weird.
If only the same amount of effort went into something constructive...
Reviews are bought and sold, and highest scores go to the highest bidders.
At least smaller sites like HHG tell it how it is instead of making stuff up because a studio didn't send its royalty cheque.

It's just the same engine as the last game. However, not such a bad thing. Fallout 3 captivated me, I'm really looking forward to this.
