thats a good point-
In a perfect world games should just be announced when they're actually ready to ship then the 4-6 months of marketing could just be used to iron out the bugs.
but budgets would just become extraordinarily high...
Only a handful of games I've bought this gen I haven't noticed numerous glitches or issues in. I've now got a decent collection of about 20 games on my PS3 now since i realised how lame trade ins are, but over the 2 years I've had it i've probably bought closer to 30 games, far and away most of them I've always ran into a major glitch- some a lot worse than others. I think it's typical of this generation that QA falls by the wayside and devs rely on patching too much. Typically its 3rd party ...
too true- before BC2 came out the hype machine said it's graphics were amazing- well they totally suck.
The game that a company shows off and the one that ends up in your living room are always streaks apart.
whos mikkiRMD?
The hype machine is in overdrive.
I'll be the first to admit that the first thing I look for in a good game are good graphics- but if the game ain't my cup of tea I still won't buy it ala Heavy Rain.
In the end who cares that much when there's only 2 great games left to come out this year and everything else will fall by the mediocre wayside-
Gran Turismo 5 and Red Dead: Redemption FTW!
This month I got Bad Company 2, God of War III and Just Cause 2.
Not sure which one I like the best..... they're all good in their own way, and all totally different types of games.
i don't like the idea of a playing a console always relying on 100% always on internet access...
modems screw up, wireless networks go down when you don't want them to, generally- sh*t happens. I know at my house and at everyone else's i know, the internet doesn't work properly all the time.
i dont want to rely on it like that to play a game.
I personally never gave this a look in- i entered the PS3 market around 2 years ago.
I think its just he reality of gaming these days, most exclusive titles are/will be made by first party developers, because there are two machines out there with very similar capabilities and there's no point limiting yourself to half your potential market.
the downside to that is i think- we won't get to see a third party really push the PS3 to the level that Sony owned studios hav...
this guy just became one of the most hated on the internet....
i have not one iota of interest in move or natal. i had a wii, sold it because the novelty tanked after it just turned out to be an uncomfortable, clunky way to control games, bought a PS3 and never looked back.
Personally gaming for me is a very static pass time, I don't want to stand up and point my arms around to shoot stuff, or move about to perform actions for more than 5 minutes- when i want physical activity I go outside and play basketball.
Neither of these ...
PC will always look better, nobody argues that it doesn't.
Personally though I don't have a gaming PC- I got a PS3. One thing I really think is cool for this game on the PS3 and I'm assuming the PC version is the record feature- so you can record your best stunts.
I've got an issue with the PS3 version- the game crashes alot (freezes) when trying to connect to a multiplayer game on the map load up screen- issue for anyone else?
try as i might i'm not excited for alan wake.
its whole concept doesn't appeal to me.
GT5, HELLO! Probably the most anticipated game ever.
you can't even seriously argue any game on 360 looks near as good as the oft touted big name sony titles if you have played both consoles. if you do then your clearly an ass.
you two are LAME
well it?
the console wars are worse than politics, honestly.
pfft until broadband worldwide can cope with instant dl of 35 gigs or more than digital distribution is going nowhere.
I know here in Australia those sort of speeds aren't planned to be fully available for another 10 years...
physical storage media will be here for a long time to come.
The decided they wanted to go multiplat so their fault. Sony owned/affiliated studios are the only ones that really push the envelope with console gaming anyway.
this is fast becoming one of my all time favourite games- i'm having such a blast with it- literally.
