Or you could just keep your PS3
It could cost $2000 and I'd buy it. I'm not a teenager relying on my parents anymore like when PS3 came out. I got money BIATCH!
You cold conversely say the only reason Xbox did so well was because of America (but the PS3 isn't doing 'woeful' there). Americans refer Xbox 360 while everyone else wants PS3
It does matter, because this whole generation the sales gap between the two has been referred to again and again in the gaming media to call Sony and the playstation brand doomed, and when it finally reaches the Xbox and surpasses it, all of the sudden it doesn't matter?
I must admit I've stopped playing too. It's a good game but I gets pretty samey after a while, and yeah the monologues piss me off too. But I'll finish it. I always finish the games I buy.
MS has clearly been winding down the 360 in favour of the next Xbox for a while now. It's resources are just being reallocated. I'm an owner on Xbox and PS3 but I stopped playing Xbox long ago, for no real reason in particular, it's a great machine.
To me all this says is Sony will announce PS4 this year and ship in 2013, whereas MS will announce at E3 and ship before Christmas 2013.
Sony already announced a 4K content service, and 4K bluray releases for later this year at CES. 4K is simply what HD was 10 years ago and what Full HD was 5-6 years ago. They were big, expensive and everyone was saying 'Why do I need HD and Bluray/HD DVD when I've got DVD'.
My parents only recently replaced the first HD Plasma TV they bought in 2004. It's a Pioneer, and at the time it cost around $15,000. It still gets used at their beach house now.

Give Dishonoured a try- awesome game and fresh IP.
PS4 won't release in 2013 IMO. The PS3 has far too much support in 2013- they would be sacrificing the investment made in PS3's showcase titles for 2013 by distracting everyone with a PS3.
They might announce it, but they'll give us a good 8-12 months of hype prior to a release. They won't give detailed specs if they announce it too, just what it's capable of to give them flexibility to match or beat the next Xbox should that have 'better' specs. ...
While games still look great on PS3 (and 360) they're saddled by their lack of memory. I love my PS3, and I agree there's a lot of life left yet in the system, but a PS4 would be a day one purchase for me!
If anything it just means its coming out sooner rather than later.
GT5 is still the game I go back to time after time like no other. Top tier gaming and a welcome respite in a sea of violent games.
Ahh k cool. Thanks for clearing that up!
This game wasn't on my radar until I read the review. Definitely will pick it up. I'm a huge Ghibili fan, but I thought this would be a 'kid's game'. How wrong I was.
It's available on DS too.
At the moment we don't even know how this technology will be implemented, if at all. It might be used for an entirely different purpose, it might not be used at all. Companies have literally thousands of patents that sit idle and never get used. Instead of jumping to conclusions from a patent application that, frankly few people understand, how about we go by what Sony have said in the past, which is they don't plan on blocking used games.
It's ignorant to talk of the decline of hardcore gaming in the same way it's ignorant to speak of the decline of PC gaming. What this article explains is that casual and tablet/smartphone/social gaming is a growing industry. It doesn't give any solid analysis on perceived decline of so-called hardcore titles.
First thing is the PC gaming market, a market dominated by hardcore titles, rose in 2012. Secondly, the console market is what you could consider a mature m...
Lost me with snes style visuals. As much praise as they get I just can't dig throwback titles.
I hate motion control but as long as its optional and I can still use a traditional dual shock then ill still buy PS4.
Of course it has, we all know that. Sony has admitted it. PS3 phat was originally made in Japan, with high cost components, and included PS2 emulation, various types of memory card readers and 4 USB ports (for the high end model). They slimmed it, took out components, manufactured it in China with cheaper labour and used cheaper parts to make some money off it instead of selling at such a big loss.
But the myth of dodgy Chinese quality is dead. China makes plenty of high end ...
