To me it reads like multiplats will be the same or similar, and it'll be once again the exclusive libraries that set these new consoles apart.
Can someone with technical know-how please explain how this compares to what we know about the PS4?
Nobody reads them anyway.
November is agreed
@Veneno
Deus Ex: Human Revolution had the best soundtrack. I suggest you check it to if you haven't already.
I agree. In 3-4 years 4K will be to 1080P TV sets what 1080P was to 720P 4 years or so ago. Most HD TV's were 720P, whereas 'Full HD' 1080P sets were considered an expensive luxury.
Sony are releasing 'affordable' 4K sets this year. That means in 3-4 years, they actually will be affordable.
If the PS4 was priced 'too high' then they'd definitely want GT6 to justify the purchase.
Exactly. Crysis isn't Call of Duty. You can't just keep releasing the same game and think people won't get sick of it.
I've always thought Crysis games were all flash and no soul. I have the first 2 on PS3 and they were very 'meh'. Didn't finish either of them.
A lot of the appeal of GTA and games in general is they transpose you into the character. They make you feel immersed in the character, and to a large extent want you to feel as if you are the character. The fact is, most gamers are male. While there are growing numbers of female gamers out there, it's a male dominated pursuit and developers typically will cater to that audience.
Yyyeeesssss! Please! JC2 is one of my favourite games on PS3! Was so good!
A big price cut, ongoing PSN support and hey, I might even get a second one!
Good article. I bought a Vita at launch, and currently have about 7 games. I actually used my system almost daily for the first 6 or so months but things really dried up for the Vita since.
Here's hoping for some great, new IP soon to satisfy my need!
Dude, Drive Club? Knack? Of the 8 games shown, 2 were existing IPs. And this was early info. We know ALL of Sony's first party studios are working on PS4 titles. I'd say the bulk will be new IP, then add third parties. Didn't you see what Media Molecule were working on with Move? Sculpt your own city with motion control?
We haven't even seen the full cababilty of these new connected and social features can do in practice, or implementation of the new PS Eye a...
Woah a lot of hate here for Cliffy B. I read his post and he didn't say anything that controversial and it was an opinion piece anyway, get a grip people.
Sony's investment in top tier first party studios is paying off imo. It brings the hardcore to the system, and makes the 3rd party devs want to capitalise on this by making games catered to them.
Well played sir
Considering Kazunori Yamauchi featured in the PS4 reveal video, it might be a case of coming to both platforms.
"The price of new games on PSN is ridiculous where on steam you usually find them discounted and around £10 - £15 cheaper."
The difference of course is that Steam as a digital distribution platform don't need to satisfy a massive physical retail distribution network and can offer games cheaper without worrying about annoying retailers.
Sony and their partners however still rely on the bulk of their sales going through physical mediums...
PS4 will be the hottest product of 2013. Can't wait to see what MS come up with in reply.
People need to calm down, this is a launch title. PS4, like PS3 will take a bit of time to hit its stride. Don't expect games to push the system to its limits day one, even with the new developmental ease focused architecture.
