How have I never heard of Tearaway before? Looks amazing!
I thought it was a steaming pile of average. I've got it for PS3 and its one game i played and never finished. I never felt compelled to finish it, just had no soul.
The move to 'casual' is a broadening of the gaming industry, not a replacement of it.
Drops in console sales are also a product of a mature market, reaching near saturation level. It's now selling to late adopters and people replacing existing consoles that have broken down, or some other reason, which is never going to give the level of sales you get earlier in the consoles' lifetime.
There'll always be a place for a console like experie...
It's not something that'll be solved by getting a different disc, it's a software error- head over to the Hitman forums at the official site, many threads dedicated to this issue.
It seems to only affect consoles. I'm on PS3. It usually happens when you restart from a checkpoint, the game crashes to a black screen forcing you to restart your system. On turning it back on you'll find the game no longer recognises your save.
The first time...
What kills this game for me is the game breaking console save corruption glitch. It's stopped my progress 4 times now, and killed my vibe with it. Worst is IO haven't fixed it yet.
Damn shame because I was loving the gameplay, agree with your review otherwise.
I've read a lot of Max Payne 3 hate going around. Personally I thought Max Payne 3 was really good. I loved the style and the gameplay, and the story was great too. Really freaking difficult, but great game.
The RAGE engine really worked well in a shooter.
As someone who also speaks Japanese, its funny to see how much of what is actually said gets lost going through the translator on both sides.
What's with Furious 4's Nazis not having swastikas? I hate games that do that. People won't get offended if you show swastikas on Nazis.
I'm happy to be one of those 30 million, owner as of 26 December 2007.
Can't wait for PS3 DLC and more areas to explore.
Steam ruined my return to PC gaming. I bought a physical copy of Shogun 2 Total War. I then had to wait half a day for it to install because of some weird interaction it had with Steam.
The amount of times I've tried to play it, only to find I have to wait 2-3 hours for a patch to download, or DLC to install on my computer that I have NO INTENTION OF BUYING is ridiculous. Steam is killing the PC user experience.
Definitely a metal gear game but ground zeroes of MGS5? Remember Kojima said Ground Zeroes would be a prologue game.
My own personal list:
1. Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes
2. Grand Theft Auto V
3. Rome II Total War
4. Beyond: Two Souls
5. God of War Ascension
6. Last of Us
7. Killzone: Mercenary
8. Yakuza 5
9. Dead Space 3
10. Soul Sacrifice
11. Skyrim DLC on PS3
Very much looking forward to this game. Hopefully there's a fully realised multiplayer component too.
There's always been competition in the console market, but 360 provided true competition for Playstation with a similar formula, particularly its 'mature' focused titles.
I probably just haven't played it enough but I haven't experienced any of the bugs this patch fixes.
This was already widely reported when when it was announced that Platinum were taking over development. It was going to be cancelled but instead Kojima handed it over to them.
Why there are still console v pc comparisons eludes me.
I don't care about ads- I just don't think my broadband ad home network works seamlessly enough for this model. Whether its the occasional errors with my wifi network or router solved by turning the router off/on or spotty service where broadband speeds are inexplicably slowed down by my ISP I can see this sort of thing becoming a frustration for me.
1) Game patches aren't mandatory unless you want to play the game online;
2) Cross game chat is the most overrated feature ever;
3) PSN download speeds do suck;
4) Mandatory installs have never been a problem for anyone except the most serial complainants;
5) PSN compares completely favourably against Live considering its free. The store has content a plenty, the service provides what it should and does it with minimal disruptions.
