,because people are questioning paying $50 for the XBL service. My understanding is that the PSN and MS systems are very different from an infrastructure point of view.Ultimately, you pays your money, and you takes your choice. However,i predict you will see much more cheating and modding and other anomalies on the PSN system due to the way it is implemented, also i expect wide variations in quality and features available from game to game.Really, the question shouldn't be, should XBL be free? B...
Just an excuse to exploit the poor old gamer, yet again. Doesn't matter to me now, because i won't be buying in to this bull. Next game ,please.
very clear on multiple threads regarding this game, so i'm not gonna repeat myself here. However, most right thinking people must surely question the mentality of people who would include such 'strange'content in a film, let alone a video game.I may suggest some of the Rockstar team members seek some help!I'm not joking on this occasion.
that violent films can have a detrimental effect on the viewer, watching films is basically a passive experience. You don't control the content of a film, you make no decisions as to the outcome or nature of what you see. Therefore, you are not responsible and able to distance yourself from the actions portrayed. Video games are very interactive and it is far more likely the player can 'become' a character in a video game. This is obvious, isn't it? Rockstar are not trying to make any social or ...
confused the hell out of me,but a wipeout game on the PS3 in glorious HD,if any good, would convince me to buy a PS3 without hestitation even at the current price.Wipeout for me is in the same league as Halo, in terms of gameplay and enjoyment.I'd just like to point out that wipeout doesn't have the Japanese slant that usually puts me off the PS3 and its software.
that the rating system in combination with parents common sense is the best way to prevent kids from playing games like Manhunt2.I respect that view, but disagree strongly and this is why.Taking the view that its o.k for games devs to push any level of violence and gore they like towards the kids; and believe me the publishers know under age kids are the big market, shows a total lack of corporate responsibility and Rock star is at the forefront of this.As parents its important we take such is...
I strongly support this action and i am pleased to see the reasons are sensible.I have been concerned for quite a while about the direction Rock star is heading.Well done to the BBFC
this is one of the few PS3 games i would buy in to.How long have they been working on the PS3 version, because i seem to recall this being mention quite some time ago?
is its greatest strength, but also it greatest weakness. It creates innovation, but by it's very openness it lacks any real cohesion. If Linux real wishes to challenge Windows it must produce software as easy to install and use as windows, but still retain the advanced features of it's heritage. Not any easy balance to achieve.
i was alone in supporting J.T's motives and judging by the posts on this forum, i was. Thankfully, there are other people that can see beyond the thunder.I re-state,childrens welfare is paramount and there is no doubt that some game dev's, looking at you Rockstar, know that under age kids will be playing their games. It no use saying 'ah well, it's the parents fault', because we all have a social responsibility to all children, not just our own. This responsibility extends to game devs just as ...
we all know stats are about as reliable as weather forecasting, the best you can hope for is a general trend of sales. And,as the posts so far show, you can interpret those 'trends' anyway you choose. The only thing we can safely assume from these figures; and this may change, is that there is no clear winner in the next-gen console race,so far. That is a major achievement for MS and Ninty, so from that perspective, the PS3 isn't selling well. However, i can see this all changing if PS3 delivers ...
It's those pesky monkeys all over again. Don't forget the Cool reggae-fied intro music.
Firstly, i suspect the new engine will be extremely flexible and well capable of tuning to any of the platforms. It's probably very modular and transportable, so i don't think the specific code for any particular platform will be an issue.Sure there may be architectural constraints to contend with on each platform, but that just means tuning and a bit of work.P.C. version will probably be miles ahead of the consoles, but that's to be expected.Afterall, you can't fit a quart into a pint pot.I k...
while J.T is one extreme, the games he rants about are the other. I don't support J.T 's particular agenda, but the fact that he at least raises the issue is quite important for us all. There is no doubt in my mind, that some dev's have scant regard for the effect their material could have on younger minds and while its easy to ridicule J.T, for perhaps, making a mountain out of a mole hill, needless violence in films and media in general, is starting to become common.
The problem in m...
take a bubble for a legitimate pov, that's just mean and sad.I didn't insult, attack or abuse any one on this site, so why take a bubble? Life is full of people who will disagree with you, but you can't erase them just ,because it upsets you.I'll survive one less bubble, but will you cope with life that doesn't always go your way? Lets hope so.
Piracy does NOT affect game prices one way or the other, thats what we are told, but its untrue. There is no piracy to speak of on either platform at the moment, so currently it's production costs that are used to justify high prices. When and if piracy does becomes a problem on this gen consoles,it will not change the price of software. Example, why is PC software so cheap to buy, despite rampant piracy? Production costs aren't really any different for PC's are they? Consoles are an easy money ...
anyway you choose, but next gen titles of this magnitude simply cannot get away with such terrible on-line support.Yes, i know the career mode is awesome, apparently, but using an excuse like, this is the best way to do multiplayer for this type of game, because thats how they do it in rallying, is lame.I'm not saying this isn't a next gen title, i'm just saying it isn't a complete next-gen title.Had the game supported proper multiplayer, then i would have purchased for sure, as it stands, its a ...
actually, i quite like rally games, not my favourite genre, but i have purchased CM before.XBL multiplayer option is not really multiplayer though,is it? I just think no proper multiplayer in this generation of games is a bit of a let down, but i do appreciate its getting good reviews and graphics are top notch.Anyway, i take your point and enjoy your game.
,because i have not had a single problem with my 360 from new (a month or so after launch), be it scratched discs, over heating or red ring. To me this is either a particular batch or batches of machines or an awful lot of misuse by the users. I think the former to be honest.
Demo is rubbish, doesn't promise much for the full game does it?This is a miss for me.
