the old double bluff technique :)
Thanks SF49er408
I can't keep track of this. I just finished typing a response to Sony's price cut, then i go back to the headlines and read this.Guys help me out here,price cut or no price cut?
I had no idea the problem was so widespread.I thought a lot of this was just over hypying of a much smaller problem.A quarter of all 360's to date have had a problem!Thats horrendous, but as long as the problem is resolved and those people affected are reimbursed and MS learns something from this then, like the PS2 problems of yesteryear, we can still enjoy a great console and look forward.Well done MS, better late than never.
Lets face it $100 is quite a heafty cut, it still needs either another $100 cut or a game that i simply must have(wipeout for me) before i'll buy a PS3,but at least its in the right direction.Sony guys like to point out that you get a lot for your money and thats a fair point,you do get a lot.If you based your purchase purely on features, then i would probably agree its worth the the $500.I also like the ability to add industry standard Hdd's and Linux O.S.And the Hdd being a standard feature...
To all those people that keep harping on about constant failures, which i suspect is not the case, except for a few particular batches of early machines.Microsoft are saying o.k we will give you 3 years warranty,but i'll bet after six months the true picture of far less than claimed number of 360's will actually go for repair or replacement! They are basically trying to stop the over zealous few people trying to give 360 a bad name for reliability.It is a good exercise in damage control for a...
I have heard more thinly disguised racist comments on this post than i thought possible.Firstly, the argument that 'freedom of speech' somehow negates racist behaviour is laughable. Freedom of speech is not a god given right, its a collective ideal that has, througout history, been earned at the cost of many lives.While this freedom may give an individual the right to hold racist views, it does not, i repeat, does not, entitle them to thrust those views on to others without objection.I certai...
but hey, its just a screen shot. Lets see if the moving image maintains the same level of realism.Its pretty easy to generate good stills like this,but doesn't really guarantee anything about the final game.Lets have some ingame footage,please.
I respect your view, but i think you are trying to spin this statement in to something which sounds positive, when basically what Sony are really saying in my opinion is, we can't afford to constantly be bidding against the unlimited dollar power of MS when that money can't be recouped through software sales at this point.I'll stick my neck out and say, if Sony start to catch up to the numbers sold of the 360, they will buy more exclusives.Think about it for a moment,if Sony need to buy an ex...
what the purpose of this comment is.If i owned a PS3 it would concern me deeply, that a high ranker would make such a strange comment .If it was intended to make MS look bad, it doesn't work.As a gamer i really don't care why a console has exclusives,if its a game i really want, i'll buy the console to get it.Yes, exclusives have always helped to sell consoles, but if Sony thinks for one moment devs will flock to their console to produce exclusives with no financial incentives, they are sadly...
that you can 'just let it roll of my back' as you say,but no level of racism is acceptable and while you may be able to rise above it, that doesn't mean others can or should have to.Microsoft are very clear on their policy about such things,therefore Microsoft will have to back up their words with actions.Over to MS
show 'ingame footage' of KZ2. I don't know much about this game other than first one wasn't very good.I did see the infamous trailer and that looked unbelievable, unfortunately it turned out to be just that! If they really can produce graphics like that in-game, then a new benchmark will have been reached.Just don't get to carried away,after all neither the 360 or PS3 have shown anywhere near that quality of graphics other than in cut scenes.
300Mbps not 300MBps, and 54Mbps not 54MBps,hell of a difference guys
MB=Megabytes per second.
Mb=Megabits per second.
Also, please note due to the way wireless works, these are theoretical
speeds not likely to be actual.eg average speed of a 54Mbps router in real world is about 20Mbps throughput.Still,11n will be a big improvement over 11g.
but its still nice to have it confirmed.
This is my summation of the posts so far.
Sony guy; Can't see the difference , but the PS3 version looks better!
MS Guy;360 version is clearly better,apart from that there identical.
Here's my favourite so far(please don't take offence, poster)
"They look a little bit identical"
This is my opinion for what its worth. Halo looks better on the 360, but Heavenly sword is superior on PS3
A really adult thing to say wasn't it?
what are the benefits of a user controlled bubble system? I can't see any. What is the benefit of the ignore button? I can't see any.If you don't agree you take a bubble, if you don't agree you ignore?? So ultimately you only listen to your own views, echoed by others, don't get it, just don't get it,whats the point?Anyway,back on topic, comparisons are pointless its been said many times and its still true.Slightly less jaggies? No biggie really, frame rate drops in a game however, definitely...
Firstly, lets get real.It is NOT possible for a piece of software to cause PERMANENT hardware damage, you need a hammer or maybe an I.T engineer for that! So,if we assume that at least some of the posts are true,what options does that leave us with? Well,since all 360's are the same,hardware wise that is,then you would expect a software bug to effect all 360's in the same way wouldn't you? Judging by other posts there are clearly many people who haven't experienced these problems, so s/w bug ...
Graphics are not so important for the multiplayer elements of a game like Halo, especially if you are going to allow many players simultaneously.Besides, aren't we overlooking the single player game? I suspect the graphics will be substantially better for the single player campaign and that may yet include a four player co-op.Sounds like Bungie are taking the high ground on this one and placing gameplay before eye candy,sounds good to me.
O.k. already, i'll start saving for my PS3, but i'm still not buying until i know this game is very, very good. Wipeout online multiplayer sounds really cool,i just hope they don't include those garish colours and ridiculously tight bents of the PS2 version.Barring that, i'm in.
Hope mother and baby are fine,have a nice life. NOW get the F**K off this forum and go look after your kid! :)
