Well it would if the competition was on par... But it seems that this time, Turn 10 was right to brag. Just saying...
Honestly, I prefer a team like Turn 10 who will be overcompetitive to a team like PD who is just totally ignoring all the inovations introduced in racing games during the last 10 years. But I'm not a GT fanboy, so...
@zootang:
yes and looking at those numbers, I guess Sony will have to cut the price very soon. Even though I'm totally convincend NA is lost this gen for Sony, they can still compete a little bit better than that.
Coop missions!
And I agree, Karma seems like a really bad fit in a batman game.
I thought this rumour had been debunked by Sony and PD themselves. They clearly said damages were not unlocked by leveling-up. Maybe they were talking visual ones and not mechanical ones.
Why is it limited to online only? Can someone explain this to me? I'm really just asking.
Btw, and I really don't want to troll, but those video mostly show incredibly bad VISUAL damage (sound, physics, etc, everything is so off)! Well at least now there are mechanical ones, but I still think PD should improve the visual ones.
Comments about the lack of cross-game chat in 3...2...1..
Oh I forgot, everybody not saying that GT5=perfect is trolling.
And learn to read, I specifically said what you said. Some reviewers are just satisfied to get the same old GT with HD graphics and Kart/Nascar, while other expected (and, according to me, were right in their expectations) a lot more. Given what Forza did (or other racing games) and the fact that GT has been in development for so long, some reviewers just don't forgive the flaws that shouldn't be there in...
I think you don't understand reviews. All the ones I've read have been very consistent. In a nutshell: the game is perfect if you drive a premium car on a new track. But a lot of other things are just outdated (PD should probably buy an xbox and play some Forza if you ask me, just to keep up with the compeition, something they clearly don't do) or purely bad (the menu, the online, etc).
It seems to me the scores vary only because some reviewers are more forgiving ...
I have a question, I don't own the game: as of now, GT5 has VISUAL damages, but no MECHANICAL damages?? Seriously? I was ok with poor visual damage, but I always thought mechanical were there.
So correct me if I'm wrong, but as of now, if you crash, your car displays some scratches (or more if it's a premium car) but keep running perfectly?? Seems to me completely ridiculous for a simulation.
Seems to me that Sony just said that it was NOT the case that damages would change at level 40. This rumour started because of one video, with no proof what so ever.
Maybe I didn't understand correctly though.
The comparison with a movie is a stretch. A movie takes 2-3 hours. How many hours of gameplay does it take to reach level 40?
Do you need to play World of Warcraft during 6 months before reviewing it?
Yes it's their job and as I've said, they should play the game deeply. But it's ridiculous from Sony and PD to not be clearer about some of the main features of the game.
On top of that, most (and I really mean most) gamers won't...
lol One video where the guy shows some good damage and claims to be at level 40... No other proof, we don't know how he damaged his car, etc. And yet, all the fanboys are jumping on this as the ultimate proof and design choice...
I can't wait for people to actually reach level 40 and show us on youtube. I hope all the rumours are true, that would make a better GT5 game.
Well people have to admit that Sony and PD are not doing a good PR job at all! If GT5 really has better AI and better damage (the rumoured level-40 thing), then they should say it!
I don't really understand the point of hiding facts like these, facts that could change the reviews. And please don't tell me any reviewer should have spent 200 hours into the game before reviewing. Yes they should play the game deeply, but at the same time, it's Sony and PD job to make...
What is funny is I remember IGN said the review would arrive late because they specifically wanted to send some time with the game.
If what you are saying is true (the level 5 thing), then I guess IGN and me have very different definitions of "spending time with a game"
Why is it that the hacks are better and look more responsive than the actual games? I don't get it.
PD had 6 years and they still need patches? Stop giving those guys a free pass! Seriously, Sony should send the entire PD team to an internship at Turn 10.
Patches won't change the game completely, I'm sure of that. PD doesn't really listen to customers, they are not Bungie or Criterion. For instance, they finally introduced damage but look at the result.
Well I'm not really surprised. It's like for everything this gen with Japanese developers. They just lost it. It's sad to see it but it is true. Japenese developers are just struggling to do a PS2 game in HD, while western guys are improving in a lot of ways (gameplay, online, etc). It is seriously pathetic to see that Turn 10 can pull off a better overall (keyword) game in 2 years than PD in 6 years.
I'm not a fanboy but I got tired of all these articles abou...
I have Kinect and I can play in front of my sofa (6 feet) alone. I need to move the sofa to have a good 2-players experience. But this article clearly overstates the needed space. I don't really understand why he needed like a football field to calibrate his device.
AHAHAHAHAHAHA at the question!
Does the sun rise every morning?
Are you kidding? The award is for 100% of the game, not only 20% of the premium section of it... GOW3 makes total sense for best graphics
