Oh hey look, another attention whore using sensationalist headlines in a desperate attempt to get hits for his sad website.
MAYBE I SHOULD TYPE LIKE THIS TOO SO THAT MORE FOLKS PAY ATTENTION TO ME?!?!
O RLY? Ya think?
Seems to me like Japanese consumers are kind of getting F'ed over on this one. I mean I realize that Peace Walker probably sold better in Japan but still, for those hoping to play it in HD they get a groupon for the PS1 version of MGS1 instead? Really?
Topics like these should only be responded to with "O RLY?" Owls.
@ WhittO
You are absolutely correct. The reason the PS3 often forces 720p even if you have 1080i and 1080p checked off is because most games have a native resolution of 720p and that setting is where the game looks best. All this fool is doing in his video is upscaling the game from its native resolution (which in the case of COD is actually 600p and not 720p) to 1080i or 1080p.
I think most folks who were/are in the know had an inkling that Kinect wouldn't be capable of doing a good chunk of the things the marketing adverts suggested it would.
One word..."Blitzball".
In this economy it was really one way or the other. Sucker Punch was either going to have to go the Insomniac route and enter into a multiplat deal with a large publisher or they were going to need to sell to one of the Big Three. Obviously Sony makes sense given that it's the company Sucker Punch has collaborated with the most over the course of its existence.
On the other side of things, this was a smart move on Sony's part. I have to think that with Microsoft&...
Did EA Hand Modern Warfare 3 The Victory?
That depends. Did a stupid person desperate for hits on his site write an idiotic article with a blatantly sensationalist headline to draw attention to himself?
Let me guess, the bonus is a bottle of lube so that it doesn't hurt as much the next time Capcom decides to bend over consumers.
This trailer is about as brand new as the 1970 Chevelle 454SS being hooned in the video. It was released almost a month ago.
Enslaved was doomed from the start. By deciding to go from PS3 only to multiplat you have to at least make an attempt to market your product to the casual 360 only crowd. A lot of folks who never played Heavenly Sword probably had/have no idea who Ninja Theory was/is. By electing to go with only the bare minimum in terms of marketing, Namco pretty much ensured that only the folks who were very familiar with Ninja Theory would be interested in this game at launch. Beyond that the only othe...
Because they do not take the source material seriously, THAT'S WHY.
Video games are often frowned upon as being inferior to the likes of books, plays or other mediums used as the basis for films. When you have what many believe to be sub-par source material, there's really only one direction you can go in if you're the studio, that of big summer blockbuster which often means weak scripts, mediocre acting and huge explosions in an attempt to pander to the masses...
I dunno who's more embarrassing, the clown who wrote this crap or the morons who approved it.
Most games these days are rushed, even with a full two years of development time. Witness the number of titles that require day 1 patches because a product is rushed to market in order to get a head start on the competitors. Also witness the number of games that have had their release dates pushed back because they weren't ready in time.
Two years is simply the industry standard because that's where the maximum profitability window lies, but that doesn't mean ...
I love how all of these idiot fanboys are stealth disagreeing without offering up any sort of evidence to support their opinions. Aside from the death and cover animations which were very well done, where does the footage we've seen ever look anything remotely close to "jaw dropping" by today's standards?
The dev is even quoted as stating:
"A lot of what was shown off publicly had a bit of a mixed review. But what was going on in-hou...
COD - and more specifically MW - is a decent - not great but decent - franchise, but it's also a huge cash cow. The problem I have with the series is that Activision is more concerned with pandering to the masses and as such, they dumb down the game with each new iteration. They also crib plot points and stories directly from Hollywood movies which to me is a sign of lazy writing and they rush their games out the door before they're ready to be played by consumers. I think that wit...
FWIW, it may have been "jaw dropping" five years ago, but the tech demo footage they put together hasn't aged very well. They'd pretty much be forced to start from scratch if they ever wanted to resurrect this project and not have it look like something from the PS2 era. At the time (circa 2005-2006), it did look pretty good, but here in 2011 games like Uncharted 3, Killzone 3 and even Battlefield 3 have really raised the bar.
The only thing that's a confirmed "bomb" here is the 3DS.
OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH SNAAAAAPPPPPP!!!
A few things.
First off, the dialogue and voice acting is WHACK. There is no other way to describe it except to say that it's awfully cringe inducing. Yeesh.
Second, the story mode looks like garbage. Much of that is probably due in part to the lame voice acting but the missions just don't look that exciting to be honest. The original "Driver" and "Driver 2" were all about that retro 70s feel and this game has none of that ...
