Year over year PS3 has been performing better, especially in recent years as far as growth in sales.
Even if we consider the 1 year headstart, the PS3 is performing better. The third place talk is really stupid when the system in 3rd place is selling more than the system in 2nd place EVEN WITH the new slim line launching last quarter.
Honestly all the people talking about PS3 passing Xbox 360 in sales is a compliment to PS3. Think about it.
It release 1 year later, and is closing a sales gap. What does that say? Performing better? Yes. So no matter how you slice it, PS3 is performing better Year over Year.
It is sad to see, but the hardware for the system can do the 10 years they've planned. It is more future proof tech than the Xbox 360. It is already ready for the next revolution, 3D, and can handle some great looking games.
Sadly multiplatform developers have yet to grasp the system. And honestly there is no excuse for it. If first party Devs can make games that push the boundaries of what we have seen today why can't multi platform devs? They aren't trying h...
Could care less what available where, If I can pay $60 bucks for a game I wouldn't mind playing plus DLC packs for free that other have already paid for? I could care less if the content is exclusive.

Also, you clearly did not know that Microsoft bought the tech and only worked on it for less than 2 years before releasing it. Sony worked on Move for over 8 years.

They already started selling Xbox's below $200. Demand didn't go crazy. PS3 has yet to go under $200 and the demand is still there for it and is greater than the demand for Xbox.
Last quarter the Xbox Slim launched, and more PS3's sold during that period.
