The rootkit was Sony's way of trying to stop thieves. Those crybabies all probably steal music so they can blame themselves. If Microsoft had better security in Windows the rootkit problem wouldn't exist. They should be able to stop anyone from installing rootkits.
What losers those people are. Big deal, Sony Music had a rootkit on some music CDs. I bet those people all steal music too. If they want to boycott anyone it should be Microsoft. Isn't it Windows which they make that has these security problems? Start with the biggest offender.
What I find interesting about that story is the writer asks if this is some new Sony strategy to get more sales. Hello, it's an Atari game. Sony and Microsoft don't set the prices. I doubt that it's some Sony idea. Microsoft could always drop their license fee if that was it.
That site is Australian. The au in the name tells you that. So it's Australian dollars. Using a currency converter on the Web it shows $100 Australian is around $88 US. That seems pretty high if the game will cost $88 in the US. I don't know much about the game. Does it have some kind of special controller or something? No way I'd pay that kind of money for an Atari game.
I just noticed Lair cost $99.95 Australian so I guess they just pay a lot more than we do in the U.S. This ...
Who cares about this really? If playing PS2 games is so important buy a 60GB PS3 right now so you get that feature. As for Xbox games on the 360, does anyone still play Xbox games? There weren't that many worth playing to begin with. I think most Xboxers have moved on.
I agree that $60 isn't that much. To some people it is but I remember Genesis and SNES games that were going for that much and more. Wasn't the Sega Virtua Racer game around $75? Or was it even more than that? I'd prefer to go back to $40 or $50 but I guess that won't happen soon.
This report is pretty silly. Was it a slow day on gamepro.com? Everyone knows this by now Some people rent games because they can't afford $60 a game. Other people rent them to see if they want to buy them. I guess the thing to do is make great games that take a long time to finish. Then more people will buy them. Give more replay to the games. And keep adding new downloadable content to extend the life of the game. For free. I bet that would get more sales.
It's not price gouging. I don't think they're charging more for the Wii. Just making people buy a big bundle. That's business for you. Blame Nintendo for it. Artificial shortage.
I don't blame the stores at all. This is what happened last year with the Wii and PS3 too. The PS3 was available but only in expensive bundles. It's supply and demand. The PS3 looks to be the best deal now. The Wii doesn't have enough good games to be worth this price. Kiddies should ask mommy and daddy for a PS3. It's only $399, almost half the price of the Wii.
If Sony makes a $200 PS3 will Activision drop their games to $30?
Tom's Hardware is right. Why make it multi-platform? Just make it for the PS3. That would have been much better. Take that Tom's Hardware. Not much of a site. Does anyone really read them for game reviews?
What I got from those photos was the PS3 was much cooler than the 360. Of course both are going to show up pretty warm but the area that is hottest on each shows the 360 almost at the top of heat while the PS3 was the next level down. The 360 processor was very hot. The hottest area on the PS3 looks like where the heat is vented out. Of course that will be hot. The processor area didn't look any hotter.
I'd really like to see that article translated to English. It would be inte...
Maybe The Orange Box will end up being worth the money. I wouldn't recommend a preorder or even buying it before Christmas. Wait for the reviews and opinions from people who bought it. Why risk $60 on it if you aren't sure?
Screw EA and Valve. I'm buying UTIII. That's a great game and a game designed for the PS3. Not some port. I don't really have a problem with EA on The Orange Box. I'm sure they'll do the best they can. The game shouldn't be rushed out though. Delay it and make it better. I blame Valve for this though. Gabe Newell is an idiot. I'm not buying anymore of his crap.
There are too many great PS3 games out and coming out to waste money on lazy or crappy ports now. A year ago we didn't...
Are you Bill Gates? Obviously you're some worried dork if you're not Billy. But whatever. Loser.
I saw a story yesterday where Nintendo is saying they aren't making less Wiis than they can to get hype. Right Nintendo. If it isn't artificial then what's the excuse for the shortage of Wiis? The Wii isn't made out of anything high tech or complicated to produce. I don't see why they're still struggling to produce the Wii in large enough numbers. It has to be on purpose.
If the 360 is sold out in Japan and Europe it's only because Microsoft isn't shipping many consoles to those countries. I know the PS3 is way past the 360 in Japan and I beleive the 360 isn't doing all that great in major parts of Europe. Maybe Microsoft is just keeping all the 360 in the U.S.
I just checked out this kid's MySpace page. Yikes, that hair. No wonder he's a bit actor.
Sony doesn't have to do anything about the RROD. Everyone knows all about that problem. I don't see Sony putting anything in their ads that says the PS3 has no red rings.
What's wrong with Sony hardware? Besides running Windows it works great. I have a first generation Sony DVD burner that was the first to burn DVD+ and -R discs. It still works great. How many years ago did those come out? I can't even remember. I don't have any problem buying Sony hardware.
