I agree. Aaron Thomas is the beginning of Gamespot's problems as far as I'm concerned. He's the reason I won't resubscribe to Gamespot when my current subscription expires. I really blame Jeff Gerstmann for that whole fiasco too so I don't care about him being fired. I'll take it as he just wasn't doing his job anymore and Gamespot is cleaning house. Didn't they do that for Halo 3? I remember some huge kit Microsoft sent out to the press for Halo 3. Didn't it include a special Halo 360 and lots of other stuff? I remember something about it being worth $800 too. I wonder how many of those were sent out?

I've been buying plenty of PS3 games. Just lately I bought Ratchet & Clank, Stranglehold, Uncharted and COD4. I already prepaid for UTIII in full. Is that enough buying from me?

Bob - Regarding Jeff Gerstman, back when Aaron Thomas did his hrrible review of Ratchet & Clank Future I searched gamespot.com's site for titles. I don't remember Gerstman's actual title but it was something that would have him in charge of all the reviewers. I believe he was in charge of all reviews.
Isn't Jeffy the editor in charge of reviews on Gamespot? He'd be the one who assigned idiot Aaron Thomas to review Ratchet & Clank Future and gave it a 7.5. I'd rather think Jeffy was fired over that fiasco than over the Kane & Lynch review.
Did he ever get to the part about actually reviewing games? It seemed more like he was talking about how he's not a geek for be a 37 year old gamer. I didn't read the last couple paragraphs. Maybe that was where he talked about reviewing them?

But isn't TBWA the company who worked on this latest campaign? I think they hired the outside firm to do them. Maybe Sony is going to go directly to them? From what I've seen SCEA doesn't need help. SCEE seems to based on their commercials.
It's both. But lately it seems like a lot of developers are big crybabies. All the PS3 hate by guys like Gabe Newell. Wah. PS3 is bad. We have to learn something new. IF you don't like a console or engine don't work with it. I'm not impressed with Valve at all. I'll be getting UTIII the first day it's out though. On the PS3. At least Epic doesn't bash any consoles, well, maybe the Wii. No use creating their engine for that thing. Maybe use an old one but will anyone buy it?
I hate companies like this Autotext company. I say the rest of us just gang up on them, beat them to a bloody pulp, and destroy them. Then we can get back to our lives. This patent garbage is a mess. I love the SCEA commercials. They do a great job showing the PS3 as a gaming sytem and a little about Blu-ray. I don't know what to think about the Europe commercials. They don't say gaming to me at all. What is SCEE thinking on that campaign?
I think all the doubters will own a PS3 by this time next year. 2008 will belong to the PS3. How many great 360 games are coming out in 2008 anyway? Those games seem to have got to the best they'll get. I don't see much improvement this point forward. The PS3 games though are just getting started. We're only starting to see what the PS3 can do when a game is actually developed for the hardware. In a year everyone will be buying a PS3 if they don't already have one.
If you want to make a crappy MGS game make it for the 360. If you want to make an epic game that looks better than anything before it make it for the PS3. That's why Kojima is making it for the PS3. The 360 can't handle the game he wants to make.
No surprise on this story. Someone asks Nintendo for something and the response is no response. Isn't this how they treat the gaming media too? They have to be the most secretive comany in the world. Must protect all those secrets I guess.
