It looks like the technology is still not ready for real use. Maybe one day we'll have a completely wireless system with no cables for anything, including power. Wouldn't that be great? You could set up your audio/visual system anywhere.
A magazine writes down a release date, we must believe it. They never make mistakes, right. But that is the Blu-ray version most likely anyway. Isn't the game supposed to be online first? Then the final version will include a bunch of user created levels.
I think this list is stupid. Why keep attacking Lair? Just because you aren't smart enough to figure out the controls doesn't make it a bad game.
What do you expect from a PC magazine? That list is horrible. Soul Calibur IV? It will probably be a good game but it's far from a top ten game.
Do you have a PS3? If you do have you tried the Uncharted demo? I don't understand attitudes like yours. People like you are a big part of the problem. You won't give new ideas a chance. Just try Uncharted and see at least. You can't play RPGs all the time. I assume that's what you play since that seems to be what Asian gamers like. Or do you get into dating sims?
Sony's latest US ads have been great. The only problem now is there are too many new games to buy and a lot of people are fooled by hype. Games that get too much hype like Assassin's Creed are fooling a lot of people. Sony should put a Blu-ray disc in stores loaded with demos of their games. Maybe that would get the attention of people. I know you can download them but I guess a lot of people still aren't gaming online. Sony used to have lots of demo discs on the first Playstation and PS2. St...
That depends on what you think is replay value. There are lots of treasures hidden throughout the game to find. I'm still playing Ratchet & Clank Future to try and get 100%. If you like doing that kind of stuff then the answer is yes. If you just play through games and stop then it might be too short for you.
"they went to a 5 point rating instead of keeping their 10 scale? wtf... "
Yes, they're almost like the old OPM now. I hate 1-5 rating systems. They really tell you nothing. A 1-10 or 1-100 is much better. Now we won't know much about if the game is great or good. What makes a game a 4 or 5? They talk about this in the new issue. They want us to read their review to get the answers. I read Randy Nelson's full reviews of Uncharted and Assassin's Creed and neither told ...
But the gaming industry will only survive from hard core gamers. You don't really believe casual gamers will keep the gaming industry alive, do you? The industry has been growing year after year because of real gamers. If they want to keep doing it they have to give us games. It's fine to go after casual gamers but don't expect them to buy many games. They're casual gamers for a reason. Casual gamers are people who play a game or two once in a while. If they play a lot of games they're no lon...
Right now the Wii is popular but I can guarantee you it will live a short life. At least on the third party side. People who buy the Wii are mostly casual gamers. Casual gamers don't support the gaming industry. Nintendo will make their money off of them but nobody else will. This is why Nintendo won't ramp up to handle the demand. It's smart. They know demand will fall way off so why invest in manufacturing when it won't be needed soon.
I just don't buy into this whole motion ...
I think I have this figured out. What it is really is these people are yuppies who always have to buy the latest hyped crap. The Wii is all about hype still. They buy it because of that. They aren't even gamers. They just buy whatever everyone is talking about. Their Wiis will soon become dusty pieces of plastics sitting on the floor.
"Their saying that people with big screen TVs get the most out of Wii motion control because it makes motion control feel more realistic."
That's just plain stupid. They're even dumber than he thought if they really think that. Bwahaha. Dumb idiots. Get a 12 inch black and white Wii gamers. Then your games will look great.
This report is really silly. The Wii is horrible on big screen TVs. Anyone who knows what they're talking about would want a PS3 on huge screens. It has the best graphics. I don't think this report is real. The Wii is only selling because all the grannies want to go bowling in the old folks homes.
Milkman should talk to Randy Nelson at Playstation: The Official Magazine, used to be PSM. He's part of the problem too. I just got the January issue and Randy reviewed Assassin's Creed and Uncharted. They rate on a one to five system. He gave Uncharted a four and mostly talked about how great it is but at the end brought up some dumb problems with it that aren't even true. He said nothing but good things about Assassin's Creed. He said the problems with the game are so minor you should put u...
They think 269,000 is respectable? Was that written by someone in the HD DVD camp? Wow, look at our huge sales now. Add 269,000 to all those other HD DVD players versus the standalone Blu-ray players and our numbers look great. Bwahaha.
"research is way more reliable than opinion. Without research many things would not be there for us today. At least now I'll get motion sensing systems in the future."
I'd agree with you if research wasn't paid for by special interests. This study was paid for by a company that benefits from a good report. So it isn't research. It's marketing. See the difference?
This is like the story about wine being good for you. Wine growers pay for a study that say...
"The wii-mote-like controller is the FUTURE OF CONTROLLERS"
No thanks. I prefer standard controllers. The Wii-mote is a gimmick. We don't need no stinkin Wii-motes on real consoles.
These research studies are lame. It was paid for by a company selling motion sensing technology so of course it says gamers want it. That's why I never believe research. It's always skewed to who paid for it.
Does this mean Microsoft will lose twice as much in Japan as they are now? I don't see how doubling the games will help. Japanese gamers hate Microsoftand won't support them.
Why isn't Ratchet & Clank Future on the PS3 list? From the sales numbers I read it looks like a lot of people are overlooking it. What a shame too. I'd give R&CF Game of the Year.
