Downloading HD movies is for losers. You get what you pay for. You might as well stick with DVDs or just watch on cable. HD movie downloading makes no sense. It takes way too long to download them anyway. Your ISP will see all that activity and disable your connection.
I say Microsoft should stay out of the format war. Why does the 360 need either drive? They released the 360 too soon. Any HD drive will be for movies only. No way will games use it. That would anger 360 owners who don't have the new model. And it would add to the cost of the 360 so why do it? Blu-ray is winning this battle and that's all that matters.
I don't get all this crap about the PS3 not offering what the 360 offers. The PS3 has a lot going for it. It isn't really that expensive. Maybe I just look long term while most people are cheapskates that only see today. I see the most powerful console on the market that will see be great in five years. I see a console with a lot of great exclusives. It fully supports HD unlike the 360 and Wii so in a couple years it will look great while the others look outdated.

This sounds like a lame rumor started by the same people who paid off Paramount. I doubt Bill Gates would do this to help Sony. He did it to help Toshiba and try to hurt Sony. Face it, only Microsoft can afford to do something like this.
Way to go Michael Bay. Tell it like it is. HD DVD isn't needed. Blu-ray does enough and is bigger. No matter what Toshiba does with HD DVD Blu-ray can match it and be better. Double the size, so can Blu-ray.

What exactly do you mean by bad? You mean the data is unreliable? They have to be at least as reliable as CD and DVD. I'm not worried about it right now really. At work we use tapes. What does Microsoft have to do with Blu-ray vs HD DVD? That battle is Sony vs Toshiba. Microsoft has sided with Toshiba to fight against Sony but I don't think they care that much. From what some people say Microsoft wants to kill both formats and get people to download everything.
Blu-ray is the way to go on computers. Since it's the larger format they might as well use it. I'd like to see Blu-ray burners at a reasonable price. CD and DVD are just getting way too small for serious backups now. I just installed a 500GB hard drive in my home computer. Try to back that up on DVD. Good luck. Blu-ray wouldn't need many discs for that.

But your attitude is just as bad. Why shouldn't you have to pay for the music? The people who make the music need to be paid too. This isn't about that issue though. It's about having the right to put your legal music on your computer and iPod. The RIAA can't be allowed to stop that.
Horrible week for PS3/360? How about for all platforms? I don't see anything good on the Wii list. Good thing I have a bunch of great PS3 games I still haven't played. I'm waiting for Burnout and GT5 Prologue.
