Sony can afford to include Blu-ray because it's their format and they make the drives so they get everything at their cost. This is where Microsoft has it tougher. They're a software company. They have to pay for parts. I guess if they waited six months and included an HD DVD drive maybe Toshiba would have sold them the drives at cost. Right now the 360 has a larger install base but it isn't that big and the PS3 is going to have a huge year this year just like the 360 did last year. If anything the 360's installed base is rather small since it had such a big second year. The PS3 won't really need to do that much to catch it. Games like MGS4 and GT5 will sell a lot of PS3's. Anyone using this excuse now isn't looking long term. They see today but not tomorrow. Companies that do that usually end up dying.

Long term this generation is about graphics. For now Wii gamers don't care but when they upgrade to HD TV they'll be crying about the crappy last gen graphics. No, what you're talking about was the free demo SCEJ put up on their store before GT5 Prologue came out. It was a demo of Prologue just to let people see what Prologue would be like. And they removed it when Prologue came out. You can't get that free demo anymore.
I agree. Who cares what it costs? It's no demo. Maybe by GT standards it is but not by most racing game standards. I'd say it's about as big as the average racing game. Not bad for a "demo".
Why does the PS3 need saving exactly? The PS3 had a much better first year than the 360 had. And it's the best designed console on the market. Now Blu-ray is killing off HD DVD so a lot of non-gamers might buy one and find out they actually like gaming. The PS3 is on top of the gaming world now. How's the view from below Xbots?
Forza wishes it was GT. It will look childish next to GT5. A 9.0? Big deal. I don't know a single car nut who bought a 360 to play that game. They most likely will buy a PS3 for GT5 though. Just like they bought a PS2 for GT3 and 4.

Don't be in too much of a hurry for a PS3 price cut. Maybe in time for Christmas. The PS3 isn't much more than the 360 now but gives you a lot more. At $399 it's a great deal. I paid full price for my PS3 and don't feel ripped off. Sony needs to just get the big games out and watch sales really get going.
