It's not really meant to be a 3-day trial. The article goes on to say it is intended for multiboxing, raiding on an alt, etc. Or if you can only play now and then and the full subscription isn't worth it.
Who told you that? 360 didn't have any exclusive releases in March.
Pachter's prediction here was pretty spot-on.

Just figured I'd point this out before everyone claims he's "never right" when he makes April predictions. :P
Edit @ 1.10 below: Are you just making numbers up? The NPD says 0.49M and this excludes certain large retailers and other parts of the world. It's a safe bet t...
Free DLC at this point probably means they didn't have it ready in time for the game to go gold, but didn't want to delay the game. Seems like a great way to handle that situation.
4G refers to 4th generation iphone.
It is confusing though, because the 4th generation data network technology is referred to as 4G too.
It sounds more like something Nintendo would say.
I did the same. Man did it blow my mind.
I will be up for a phone upgrade and contract renewal right around June this year. :D
OS 3.0 was free on iphone. Ipod touch users had to buy it on itunes.
I think price has some relevance here too. PS3 is more expensive, so the demographic that purchases it is older/wealthier than the 360, if only slightly. Those people are more likely to have broadband, wifi, etc, than those who made their console decision based on the cheaper price of the 360.
As long as they've learned from the mistakes in the second game, I'm really excited for this.
PC games have cost $50 for decades, despite inflation causing dollars to be worth 40-50% less in that period. This was going to happen sometime.
We will see games cost $100 for standard editions in our lifetime. That's just how inflation works.
EDIT: Got my percents backwards. Things cost 40-50% more on average, so money is worth more like 30% less. Still, this $10 increase doesn't even cover inflation.
EDIT 2: SPLINTER CELL SPOILER JACKASS BELOW ME. Sc...
Wow, I'm pretty surprised the first one sold well enough to warrant a sequel. And that you guys are saying fairly good things about it. I'll have to give it a try.
What's funny is that no one would be batting an eye at this price if they had just chopped it in two.
$10 for 3 new maps? Sure, that's typical.
$5 for 2 retro maps? Okay, doesn't seem too bad. They're old maps but that's cheaper per map than usual packs.
I stopped playing MW2 some time ago and don't plan to buy this pack, but I do get kind of a laugh out of the perception it's getting from loud people on the internet. If they had just waited a few weeks ...
Ugh, they're doing 10 of these over the next 3 days. Expect a lot of headlines identical to this one with one word different.
You know this wasn't MS but you blame them? Huh?
It's only 310% if you have another 310% mount, so you still have to have some in-game accomplishment that unlocks 310% speed for you. Which is good, IMO. So far Blizzard has stuck to not making any gameplay advantages available through means outside the game, and this is in line with that policy.
If you'd click the article, you'd see that it is NOT about graphics. You've just gone on a tirade about them for no apparent reason.
To my knowledge PS3 stats like this aren't readily available, but GTA4 was the #8 most played game on Xbox for the week of March 15, sitting between COD4 and Gears 2. Not mind blowing position but clearly it still has a pretty substantial community playing.
Anyone else notice how that list is roughly the reverse chronology of video game consoles, from most recent at the top to oldest at the bottom? That real interesting takeaway from this article is the review score inflation you see in action here. Much higher reviews are being given out by Famitsu this generation than at any other point in gaming history.
If you compare his predictions to the actual numbers for March 2010, he was pretty damn close. All the consoles were in the right order and all the sales numbers within about 10%.
I haven't made the comparisons for other months myself, but those of you who say he's always wrong really haven't been paying attention and are just on the Pachter-bashing bandwagon.
