Backwards compatability isnt an issue for me as I'll still have my PS3, plus Im guessing thats what Gakai will do. And I'd rather they stayed away from tablet controllers to keep the cost of a second control pad down.
In game screenshots and/or video would be a nice touch, with the option to share to other users and social network sites.
Im hoping its not Motorstorm for PS4, but only because I want GT6 as a launch window game and Sony wont release two first party racing games at launch.
Im betting on Motorstorm at launch though.
If they showed a montage and ended with a 60 day countdown clock starting that would be something. Dont think they're quite ready somehow but imagine if they could make a launch the week after E3? All the hype would push early adopters and would really steal a march om Microsoft.
Im guessing Vita bundles, no price drop yet, Killzone 4 and GT6 shown in development for launch window, and have a sneaky suspicion/faint hope that Last Guardian is ready to go as a PS4 launch g...
FF7 was released a couple years after the launch of PS1 so its no big concern if it hasnt found its crown jewel yet. Also, the NES, Mega Drive and Wii sold well because they were in leagues of their own as consoles. Those games just happen to be the most popular on that platform, doesnt necessarily mean they're system sellers. A system seller is an exclusive game you'd buy a console to play, ala Mario Kart, Uncharted, Halo. Multiplatform games arent system sellers, but new iterations ...
Firstly I think the rumoured specs are probably pretty accurate. We're far enough into development that the leaks are probably true.
Secondly, both Sony and MS are taking different approaches to memory but will end up with pretty similar systems. The differences on 3rd party games will be as minor as they have been this generation and the exclusives wont look too far apart because the first party devs will take the approach that best suits the consoles architecture. From ...
Wonder what that will do to the price if they push for 8GB? Honestly Id rather shave £50 off the price on launch day and stick with the 4GB.
They're development names only. Like the vita was NGP or Nintendo's Dolphin. They'll have changed to official names by E3.
Actually we're not. We're looking for the next step up but really what we want is more expansive gaming. We want to play in new ways. And we want to buy one machine that will last 5-8 years and give us consistent performance.
"Next gen games wont look much diffetent to Crysis 3"
But I bet they're more fun to play.
Graphics arent important in terms of how appealing a system is, its all about the variety and quality of the games.
Hence the reason Im not getting a Wii U.
Gaikai
Just throwing it out there. No BC in the hardware but the software is a possibility.
Can anyone think of any possible announcement that would warrant an announcement of the announcement, live streaming an event they didnt last year and all this secrecy about "the future".
If its not PS4 I'll be astounded.
It was listed on the blog that it would be live streamed. GS alittle slow out the blocks.
Im one of the biggest Playstation fans you could meet, but you sir, are an embarressment.
I play a fair bit of SX and have never spent a penny on mictotransactions. The key thing is, Im sorry to say, you're not forced to. What we're seeing in SSX, Dead Space 3 are not microtransactions that add things to the game, but time savers.
Time is a valuable commodity and its not EA putting a price on it, its you. What EA have done is say "Heres Dead Space 3, and you can collect and see and do everything if you put the time in with our game. However if you do...
Release dates for games dont get pre announcement announcements, and price drops arent "the future". If its not the PS4 its Gaikai, but Im fairly certain its an attempt to steal a march on Microsoft by announcing their next gen console first.
Im certain that the majority of the 360's sales are PS2 owners. The thing to remember is the PS2 was the perfect storm. A solid console, tons of exclusives, no real competition. No one really expected that to happen twice did they? People saying that Sony should have a similar lead this generation are deluded. There was no way Microsoft and Nintendo could be as poor as they had been. More competition, less exclusives because the competition was better. 70 million + is remarkable really.
Dear God you people are thick. Early. Build. We're talking Alpha stage. Thats bare bones, no shine, basic textures, no particle effects, no lighting and no anti aliasing. Hence the flat look, screen tearing and PS2 looking graphics.
I love slagging off cod as much as the next person but you guys will look for any excuse to pick this game apart just because its Activision. Plus theres the really valid point that graphics dont mean a damn, its all about gameplay. If this g...
What happened is Sony went down the pub one day and left the dictionary on the table next to the atlas, and while they were gone to dog shredded up the M section of the dictionary and ripped Europe clean off the map of the world. It also humped the table leg and peed in a slipper.
Consequently Sony had no idea what this thing called "marketing" was and didnt realise there was actually a whole other continent out there! Fortunately this year they discovered a crystal...
Fair comment, but Ridge Racer...sorry, RIIIIIIIDDGGEEEE RAAAAACCEEEERRR, isnt a first party title and Sony tends to avoid sending first party titles into release windows at the same time unless they're different genres.
