I think you'll find the share button was a developer request. If people can share videos of cool moments in their games in seconds then its basically free advertising. Which in turn means higher game sales.

Go back to WWII but keep the emotional stuff in there. WWII was all about ordinary people being thrust into the horrors of war to protect their homeland. Approach it like a playable Band of Brothers and you could have a genuine alternative to the modern day shooters.

@jcnba I suggest you do a bit more research. If you think graphics are all thsts changed you are mistaken. Its Sonys whole philosophy thats changed. A greater focus on making the console easier to develop for, ease of use, background downloads of updates, share functions, gaikai, new ways to play. If you watch Sonys reveal conference they hardly mention graphic...
Makes sense if you want to draw attention away from your competitors launch. They still have the looks of the console and the price details to release.
Im not sure whether they're concerned or it was their plan to cause disruption anyway. Not showing the console in Feb was a strange move, but it makes sense if you were always planning a second launch event close to your competitors reveal to draw attention away.
Sonys got their strategy spot on so far. All the hardware reveals out there before E3 and then an E3 of just games is a smart move.

News flash genius. People slagging off the Xbox or commenting that they'll buy a PS4 over an Xbox is not good press, its not generating positive hype and its not good for Microsoft.
Except those games are mmo's. The clue is the O. It stands for online and so we know what we're paying for. If my internet is down and I cant play an mmo thats only £40 of game thats useless, not £400 of console.
As for Durango being more powerful please do share the specs since you're clearly in the know. Just because it has a high price point doesnt mean its powerful. It could just be poor value for money.
They dont need to do it at all. Im betting the vocal minority here who are critical of Sony for no bc are probably gaming on a none bc PS3 and the lack of bc isnt really an issue.
The thing is if your internet is down your pc or phone still work as pc's or phones. If a games console requires you to be connected to play games and your connection goes down it just becomes a box. Thats the fear.
Nothings confirmed yet but MS have done some serious damage by not coming out and doing something to combat these negative feelings that have been generated. I know they dont want to confirm the console but why not have someone at one of their 1st part studios...
A lot comes down to expectations. I had none going into the game so there were some of your points I dont agree with, even if I see where you're coming from.
The skylines to me were not just a way to get around, they were there to mix up the combat. Its the same with the tears. They werent about replacing ammo types for me, they were about giving options. Im sorry, the grass on a PS3 game is inferior to grass on a PC game? No sale for me then.
When will devs realise that the average gamer lies awake at night dreaming of the perfect grass? Just fields upon fields on perfectly formed individual blades swaying on the breeze. We dont care for features, story or characters. Just give us the grass already.

A film is a 2-3 hour investment. Most games are 3-4 times that amount of time and if the game turns out to be poor you may not be inclined to finish it. If you started watching a tv series on dvd that was 20 eposodes long and 5 episodes in you'd lost interest would you watch the other 15?
