Who's going to play an eight year old game on PS3 anyway, if you consider playing Doom 3, buy the PC version which is dirt cheap, grab the nearest laptop and install it, apply some graphics modifications with HD texture packs, adjust the graphics so that it can run on 1080p, and you're all set. Here's your DOOM 3 HD, running at a billion frames per second.
Oh by the way, you can actually add flashlight to your guns as well. I was able to do that eight freaking ye...
I'm glad they changed that. The champions of gods theme sounds much better than an illogical Kratos versus his cloned self battle. That wouldn't make sense at all. Think about millions of Kratoses fighting on online lobbies, it's like Agent Smith clones arguing over something and suddenly beating the hell out of each other.
Yep, I know what you mean. But GOTY editions are a completely different story. You can't publish a game under that title unless you get some GOTY awards from some of the famous and credible gaming authorities. What you mean is a complete edition, which is possible.
Game of the Year edition? Haha, nice joke. Wait, you aren't serious are you? :O
And that's just a tech demo. Think about not watching but actually playing a real-time warfare scene like those of Gears or Killzone, the FPS would drop to what, three, two? I'm sorry but I don't see playing a heavy duty game that requires complex calculations with those graphics on a single GTX 680.
They showcased it on GTX 680, which is nice. But I can run 3DMark 2011 with my graphics card at 25-40 FPS as well, does that mean I can play games with such graphics...
You have to remember, though, perfection inevitably requires obsession. The man is clearly a perfectionist and he naturally suffers for that. If it wasn't for this trait of him, MGS 4 couldn't get 10/10 from most of the gaming authorities out there.
Every time he comes back, he comes back with more passion and makes it even better. He feels good about it, we play masterpieces. Everyone wins.
Who made it a big deal anyway? I haven't, nor have the gamers around me. Two games have characters modelled after Page, so what? There's nothing wrong with that. Do people confuse Inception's Cobb with Shutter Island's Ted? We're not that dumb, really.
Funny how I got disagrees, as if I said something negative but oh well, I'm getting used to it on N4G.
About The Last of Us...
It didn't look much different from Uncharted 3 to me, which was already perfected by ND in the graphics department. The main characters models look more detailed, the textures in the environment look a bit better- though the trick is, it's easier to make realistic looking textures when the game has a rusty, torn apart environment. The thing that blew my mind though, was the facial animations. You can clearly see the emotions in their faces, and...
What a highly detailed, informative article with legitimate points to think about. It only consists of fourteen sentences in total and yet it blows like a nuclear bomb on N4G, causing pages of hate comments. Gotta love gaming journalism nowadays...
I don't know of any PC hardware that'll be able to pull these graphics off in a decent framerate. It MAY be a target CGI video rendered as an in-game gameplay footage for all I know and I won't believe anything unless I see it with my own eyes. I clearly remember what happened at E3 2005 with Killzone 2...
I don't mean to sound sexist but I'd really prefer playing as an ancestor of Desmond instead. I've read an article which says this lady is a complete stranger and has nothing to do with Desmond, which kind of puts me off.
The graphics look gorgeous, it's obvious that they're putting a lot effort into it but why would you design a character that'll probably be -let's say- not as "cool" as the main descendants like Altair, Ezio or Connor, t...
You have to be quite a dreamer to expect something like Dreamcast 2 from this E3 or any other E3 that'll happen in the near future. It'd be crushed even before its release in today's rough competition.
They cancelled it, and it looks like it should have stayed that way.
And this, my friends, is how crappy a trailer will ever get in this universe or in any other universe that we may or may not know of.
The video you've just watched is like a failed assignment of an undergradute from department of film and media studies. You know what, I bet they can do a lot better than that.
Oh, the guy holding the knife is Bennett from Commando (1985), by the way.
Edit: Wait what? Is he supposed to be Ocelot? I swear t...
What sorcery is this, ND?
I have a monster PC and even I don't get to see graphics like that on my rig. :/
I second that. I'm sorry but I'll be harsh, this game looks like an unholy piece of abomination. Compare this to Silent Hill Origins and you'll understand what I mean. Co-op Silent Hill with birdseye camera? This must be a joke.
I'm a huge fan of SH series and I was eagerly waiting for a SH game for my Vita. There has been some speculations that a SH game was in the works, so I was confident that this would be the ultimate SH experience on a handheld just like...
It's not related to the actual game, as far as I could understand it's just a showcase level designed as a senior programming project by an undergraduate who used the assets of CryEngine 3 in the process. The article suggests that the jungle in Crysis 3 may actually look similar to this as CE3 is used to create the level in the video and pics.
But from what I've seen so far, Crysis 3's jungle environment seems like it will not be as shiny as this jungle depic...
How epic would that be if Microsoft united their games under the title of "Games For Windows" which could be run both on the PC with Windows 8 and next Xbox running a modified version of Windows 8. PC gamers could still benefit from higher definition and PC exclusive features such as graphics options while console versions could have optional installation with non-adjustable graphics for simple console usage. That way you could buy one game and play it on any time you want on any sy...
Okay, I'll write this once and try to explain it as simple as possible. The reactions of the enemies in video games are triggered by your actions. All of the possible player actions are pre-defined by the programmers and each action trigger a different reaction when it happens in the game. It's like "If player takes route A, act B. If player takes route C, act D. If player takes route E, act F..." and it goes on like that. It's the same system in EVERY SINGLE GAME YOU PL...
