Stop telling people on what platform they should play games, they won't listen as that's a matter of preference.
No, console's are not were it's at. Consoles are only good for the exclusives, and they're great games, the only reason I buy almost every console day one, as I know that great exlusives will always be there. But other than that, everything consoles can do, PCs do better. "Oh but I want to sit on my couch and play my games on TV." Well...
Why do some of you guys act so surprised? It's not like the franchise has always been a console exclusive, for you information, MGS1 and MGS2 were officially released on PC as well. No, PC gamers didn't have to emulate all of the games in the series, the first two came with an official box and an install disc.
And they came with advanced graphics options as well, such as enviroment detail, shadow detail, lighting detail etc. along with classic AA, AF features. You cou...
A Silent Hill game that uses Fox Engine and directed by Hideo Kojima, or at least produced in collaboration with Kojima Productions would be an epic comeback for the series. Make it happen, Konami.
I don't mean to sound rude but who did they think they were there to satisfy first, homeless cats and dogs? :/
Because some people are looking forward to Sony's departure from the gaming industry, so that they can enjoy cookie-cutter video games with no creative variation involved on a single dominating gaming console that doesn't really give a rat's rear about what gamers want when the peaceful times of no competition comes. That's why in a nutshell.
Nice ad you've got there, Sony.
One question though, is the zombie included in the console, or do we have to buy it seperately?
I don't think this game will be an open world game as most of you guys think. I think there will be a world map divided into smaller sections which contains missions and you'll be able to go to any active mission on the main map anytime and in any order you want. Those sections will be big in size as you can see the camp in the trailer and you'll be able to use cehicles within thise mission areas. You go to a section, game loads up. You abort that mission and return to base, bring...
Some people always get that feeling, starting from Portable Ops, and David Hayter always get the job. This will be no different. Snake is only a couple of years older in this game, your voice don't age in a couple of years like that.
There's no way Kojima will overlook this detail and do whatever it takes to give the job to Hayter. The man's known for his attention to little details, he would never ever do such a mistake.
I don't know why they disagreed with you or with me for that matter, but what you're telling about 4K is not up to debate, it's just a "fact".
If next-gen consoles can render 1080p games at high quality, and with high quality I mean HD textures, soft shadows, ambient occlussion, global illumination, high levels of anti-aliasing and world detail, that'd be a big improvement. That'd be bigger than you think it would, just wait till you see your fav...
Let's see how these rumors hold up to reality:
1. Cloud gaming: Not going to happen unless all of the countries in the world have super high speed broadband internet connection without quota. If this even happens, the transmission process and infrastructure renewal will approximately take a couple of decades and it just sounds like a naive daydream to me. Cheap, limitless, super high-speed internet, even in the third world countries? That's just not going to happen un...
Why is that an issue? The game uses and archaic engine anyway, I'm more curious on how Wii U could handle Battlefield 3 at 1080p instead.
guitarded77,
"but maybe the traditional Silent Hill formula doesn't work on the Vita"
The last time I saw it, the traditional formula worked flawlessly in Silent Hill Origins for PSP, why wouldn't it work for a handheld that has much more hadrware power to be spent on a more sophisticated graphical presentation? I'm sorry but that's not an excuse.
Dude, I'm a PC gamer myself. I have i5 2500k and HD7850, thinking about upgrading to Zotac GTX660. I know how it is on PC, I just wanted to point out that console exclusives look pretty darn good as there's no way you can play it on PC. Early exclusives are a different story, though. They don't usually use the full power of the consoles. But some look great, do you remember how good Gears of War 1 looked? I had a pretty decent PC as well back then, I always do, but I'm pretty ...
Dayum! I have so many games that I haven't beat yet. Guess I'll have to speed up, no way I'm playing another game when ACIII is released.
It's always the same scenario when we talk about graphics.
Next-gen consoles arrive, exclusive games blow minds in the graphics department, PC lacks those highly optimized gorgeous exclusives and the platform falls behind for a while. After two-three years, a PC exclusive that uses the new-gen GPUs at their maximum capacity gets released, being the most gorgeous looking game to date. In the following two years, PCs can render multiplatform games at higher resolution and w...
This. I regretted my Wii purchase this generation. I only played SH Shattered Memories and MadWorld, and they weren't even that great. I also tried Red Steel 1 and 2 but they were even worse.
I don't mean to say that Wii is a bad console but it's obviously not my thing. Seems like I'll stick with the next PS/MS console.
I completely agree with the argument number one. It's obvious that the medium has a limited size and there needs to be some limit to where players can go, but you can at least try to make obstructions more rationally justifiable. If there's a small rock that I can jump on, I automatically suppose that I can jump over it. If you can do that in real life, your character can do that as well.
But if that small piece of rock is blocking the entire way I'm not supposed ...
Just to add something to your argument guys, you all seem to forget the fact that running on an older engine ensures the company that the game can be played on almost any computer hardware, laptop or desktop, regardless of how old they are.
The COD engine may not be the graphical masterpiece Frostbite 2 is, but it is a highly optimized engine, thus it can run smoothly enough on almost any computer, even on the not so new ones. That of course, enables them to reach to a wider...
As much as I don't like the attitude of this guy, he's right about almost everything he says in this video.
Looks like IGN listed it for PC as well:
http://www.ign.com/games/me...
Just beware that there's no official confirmation yet. It's only confirmed for "PS3/360" for now, a PC or Wii U version is yet to be announced.
