First Zombies, and now aliens.
What's next, could that be... DINOSAURS?!! Get a move on, DICE.
Why wouldn't we? We're paying for those devices, so we expect the best performance per buck, it's just the nature of a conscious consumer.
Besides, 1080p was commercialized but never achieved last gen (except some titles that were not mainstream) which means that lower resolutions than 1080p are kind of a 'characteristic' of the previous generation now and we don't want the same old sub-hd visuals as we're buying a COMPLETELY NEW and SUPPOSEDLY SU...
The difference seems minimal, the only noticable difference in the video is the quality of water. Of course there'll be a resolution difference but it seems like the game will be using the same source models/textures on both versions so it's safe to say that this game is definitely "current-gen".
What I'm more curious about is how the PS4 version will hold up against the PC version, though.
Agreed, the original is heavier to hold but man does the OLED screen look absolutely fantastic. I wouldn't ever trade lightness and better price with visual quality.
Nothing to see here, folks.
From the looks of it, whatever the problem is, it's not something that might affect the end-user's experience, but rather something about how the gaming media will work with regards to initial reviews or such.
And to be honest with you, I couldn't care less about it as I buy my systems/games depending on my own opinions and preferences.
I'd say they should, as I don't really consider myself as a platformer guy but given that Nintendo fans actually buy their consoles for Ninty's long established franchises, it wouldn't be a good move both in terms of product sales and consumer satisfaction. So let's just say, they don't have to give it a rest but they HAVE TO offer a wider variety of games to choose from that adresses to a bigger audience. They're trying to please their core fanbase, and understand...
If that's the case here, don't you think they kind of have the right to do so?
I mean in no way I'm implying that they're right with this practice- but I just can understand the reasoning behind it. Everybody's a reviewer in today's e-world, and every bit of negative news is blown out of proportion whether truly important or not. The exaggeration (intentional or unintentional) on the gaming media websites devalues their product in one way or another, a...
I can't understand why it had to be (if true) 900p, I mean Killzone Shadowfall is a much better looking game and it's running at 1080p with a solid ~40-45 frame rate.
From the looks of it, this generation will be the generation of exclusive titles once again when it comes to impressive visuals.
Drewidian,
I might be wrong but I believe the trees/vegetation on the hills are still not completely 3D and the crowd is still a cookie-cutter two dimensional copy and paste, which are some of the details I wouldn't want to see on a next-gen console. The cars look gorgeous, and when the cars look that good, visual flaws on the track/map sticks out like a sore thumb, which is a major distraction (well, at least for me).
I don't want to be that guy who ...
The cars look good but I think the environment is still lacking some detail- especially the vegetation and the crowd. As much as I love how the cars look, I wouldn't call those visuals "next-gen" as the whole package is not completely polished.
That the game runs at a solid 1080p@60 fps is still a good accomplishment, though.
Vita please!
I don't need this FAQ to buy the PS4, as I know everything I need to know- it's the latest and most powerful game machine of the company I grew up with, which in years have released absolute digital masterpieces and some of the most visually and artistically impressive video game titles of all time such as The Last of Us, Metal Gear Solid 4, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, God of War 3, Ni No Kuni and The Journey.
What else do I need to know?
I've been very curious about this game but the latest gameplay trailers kind of indicate that it'll be a familiar mixture of Resident Evil and Silent Hill rather than a refreshing horror game that puts something new to the table. I still loved the atmosphere though, definitely picking this up when it comes out as I'm a sucker for horror games.
On a side note- I'd advise gamers who like this title to play "Silent Hill Downpour" (which I believe is one...
I belive it'll be just like Portable Ops where you can pick your missions on a big scale map. The open worldness of it will come from your freedom of choosing in what order you can do the missions, or in what way you'll achive the goals along with in what ways you'll reach your destination (stealth at night/morning, going rampage, using vehicles etc.). I don't think Kojima is taking the GTA route with it, that style of gameplay wouldn't suit an MGS game very well- this &qu...
I like Killzone Shadowfall.
Yes, the premise is quite generic and it follows the classic Crysis-like semi open world FPS formula but the scale of the field/view distance and the artistry behind it is so unmatched that it looks like an animated movie rather than what we're used to in video games. In that aspect alone the game is pioneering a great generation and indicating better things to come- just like how Gears of War made you feel back in Xbox 360 era when you first p...
This game is so stunning.
I've seen the newly released story trailer and I was amazed by how good it looked. I wouldn't distinguish the game from CGI in some scenes (such as the scene you're kicked off of the helicopter by the enemy).
It's been a long time, but they indeed were able to catch the level of jaw-dropping detail contained in the Killzone 2 E3 2005 CGI trailer, and the best part is, this time its %100 real.
As far as I'm concerned, resolution and anti-aliasing have not much to do with the type and/or the amount of RAM, it's the GPU that matters when it comes to implementing higher resolution and higher level of AA into video games. Xbox One is said to have a slower ATI graphics unit, we're not sure about the validity of these rumors but if they turn out to be true, it must be the GPU to blame.
That said, at what resolution a game runs is in fact a developer choice. C...
This game by far has the most impressive visuals of all next-gen games revealed. I especially love the cinematic feeling the game has, pretty impressive and CGI-like to look at.
It's going to be a great generation indeed.
The game looks quite good, actually.
I can understand why people are frustrated with it but most of you guys are not taking it for what it's worth but rather expect something more than what it actually is. COD is not really my type of game either, but I like playing its single player campaign, gives me some kind of satisfaction and enjoyment you get from a third grade action movie- you know it's not a classic, but you're willing to spend your time on it just to en...
On the contrary, I believe leaving out the modern day storyline would be the worst thing that could happen to the AC series as it'd be a total betrayal to the wonderfully philosophical and sophisticated backstory established by the first game and the Ezio trilogy. Leave it out and AC is your standart, highly commercialized milk machine of a game that sees a release every year.
That's s bad, bad idea you've got there as there are people like me who follow the games...
